Conveniently located in the heart of Venice, Duodo Palace Hotel is set within a historical building, and has been beautifully renovated and restored to create a new four-star hotel in Venice. Saving some of the most important architectural elements from this 600 year-old palazzo, including the frescoed ceilings in each bedroom, the hotel has a truly Venetian feel. Literally located a stone’s throw from La Fenice, the hotel could not be more centrally located. You can stroll to San Marco Square, the Rialto Bridge, or the Accademia, in 10 minutes or less. The top floor accommodations offer sweeping views of the city’s rooftops and major monuments. Glance below and you can watch a gondola slowly glide by your window. Offering direct access to the hotel from the canal, your water taxi can drop you at the door of the Duodo Palace Hotel where you will be warmly greeted by the staff. The hotel’s 38 bedrooms, adorned with beautiful Venetian fabrics, offer the modern amenities required by today’s traveler, including fully marble baths and plush towels. Relax in the cozy bar, or enjoy a book in the study that has the remains of a piscine - an ancient well - where you can almost hear the voices from the past as they share the day’s gossip Welcome to Venice

This hotel offers great value for money and is in an ideal location without being on a noisy thoroughfare.

The staff were welcoming and helpful. They did everything to make us feel welcome and find our way around.

The room was air conditioned, immaculate, well appointed and comfortable.

Could not ask for more!

After landing in Marco Polo airport we got a private water taxi in to Venice. Which is a definate must do, which took us straight to the front entrance of the hotel . Under today’s current situation I will say they are on top of it, masks to be worn, sanitisers everywhere and breakfast delivered with military precision. The staff are friendly and were extremely helpful at all times. Room was clean and very comfortable, and recommend a canal view .
We had a great time.
Many thanks to the hotel and staff.

The lobby is small but pleasant. The staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast under Covid was a disappointment - some cold slabs of ham and cheese. My travel partner, a vegan, could only eat a pre-made fruit cup. The hotel either needs to improve their offerings or lower their breakfast prices.

The room was pleasant enough. Ours had a balcony overlooking a canal. Beds were comfy. Bathroom facilities were acceptable.

The area is not in a high-traffic corridor, although none of Venice was during our stay. Consider your desired location before booking.

We had a lovely stay at Duodo for 3 nights. We were welcomed by 2 lovely ladies who were really kind and helpful. Our room was beautiful and the bathroom was okay. I recommend adding a fixture so guests can also take a shower. We shower every day and had to sit in the bathtub, which was not a problem for 3 nights, but still. It could be easily updated. This morning before checkout, my husband and I agreed on a 4 star rating. Then we went to check out and were rudely presented a 9 euro charge for the 'minibar'. There was a fridge with 2 0.5 litres of water and no label, no price list and no information folder. I indicated this to the receptionist and he just said, I'll tell the GM and dismissed us. This is such a sad ending to an otherwise nice stay and I personally think it is very dishonest to rob your guests like that. You should at least put a price list somewhere around the fridge and make it look more like a minibar instead of putting only 2 water bottles with a cost price of 4.5 euros each in there.

We spent 6 nights at the Duodo Palace Hotel and we had a perfect time there: the location is just ideal in the heart of the old Venice, the room spacious and quiet with view on the water, the staff very professional and smiley, with a 24h concierge for late arrival like us (1.30am), the breakfast was perfect and with a large variety of food.
All the hotel is respectful of the COVID risk.
Finally, after 4 days strolling around every night to find a nice restaurant with outdoor sitting, and struggling not to end up in too touristic places, we realized all the best spots were around the hotel!
We probably will come back if one day we return to Venice :)

We booked a delux room for couple of nights and we were given a room on 5th floor (lift only goes to 4th) which looks nothing like the photos of delux room on the website. Then I thought before judging them I look into other types of the rooms and their picture on the website and surprise surprise, I noticed they gave us a Classic room, when we asked the gentleman (arrogantly) told us “you don’t understand” and we decided to talk to the manager next morning and the manager said this is a mistake, this photo should be under delux and your room is a delux and hotel is not at any fault. Their reason was the size of the room is within the range of delux room and not a classic room and there is no other delux room available, there is delux room with view but there is a surcharge. I think if you read this far you get what kind of customer service you get at this hotel. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Apart from this, they have no iron/ironing bed in the hotel due to fire safety and when I asked why you did not mention it on the website they said you can see that in room amenities there is not iron. But they don’t explain why under room facilities on their website its written bat tub and our supposedly delux room had no bat tub. Tbh I was tired of arguing with them, they were very rude and basically all they care is the money.
Room was tired and old, bathroom was too old that you did not really want to take shower, Bed was normal and pillows were ok with two option of soft and hard pillows.
Breakfast was alright but the water-bath for boiling egg was something rather interesting.
Location was great with 6-7 min walk to San Marco. Water taxis come to the hotel and you can come directly to the hotel from the airport with water taxi.
Overall I would say its not a 4 star hotel and poor customer service.

Otherwise the view is through a window which must be opened as there is a cloth screen on the glass. Breakfast was pretty well done particularly in light of the Covid protocols. Breakfast is brought to your table with the only self service being the juice at a bar. Otherwise a nice array of hot and cold items promptly served by two gentlemen. This is a very nice hotel in a central location. For us a bit pricey but good value and a definite recommend. Water taxi €70 coming, €80 going.

Excellent wifi in room, at breakfast and in lobby.

When we got here, we were told that we had been upgraded which is very agreeable to experience ! We were put on the 5th floor (very small, small walkup) which is quite different from the 3rd floor for example. Not a great decoration for the room it looks a bit old but that's okay. Cleanliness was fine everything looked a little worn down but clean. 2 small windows with a very nice view of the Venice roofs.

We quickly realized that the toilet would not flush all the time (water to replenish the toilet did not come after each flush so about half the time it would not work and you would have to come back later which is inadmissible for a 4*). During the night, you could very clearly hear the seagulls that were on the roof, they make a lot of noise so if you're a light sleeper be careful.

The second night, it was very warm in the room so we opened the windows but it was still very warm. We saw a thermostat in the room but it didn't seem to work so we called reception to ask for help. The person on the other hand first told me to open the windows, which I said I did half an hour ago. They explained that it was too early in the year for the cool air to be turned on so they could only turn the heat on if I wanted. I asked if they had any other options and they said no. I said I understood and would live with it but recommended that they warn guests beforehand to avoid these situations where I could have been mad. They told me they wouldn't, acted like they didn't care at all, said over and over to open the windows (where I answered every time that I had), spoke to me in a very arrogant way and like I was bothering them, never apologized and were overall super rude. I was talking calmly and being understanding so they had absolutely no reason to. As for the bed, the mattress is very thin but fine however the pillows are terrible (it would not cost too much to replace them which we do recommend).

As for the breakfast, you are not allowed to serve yourself because of Covid (understandable). The buffet is acceptable but too expensive for what it is. I would recommend going outside and having a pastry and coffee in a shop instead (at Torrefazione Cannaregio for example it's delicious). The bacon, ham and cheese were good but the scrambled eggs were bad (very overcooked). They have eggs to boil available I asked twice for them and both times the servers (even though they were very nice) forgot them each time so they would cook my soft boiled eggs for 7 to 12min.

Finally, we were supposed to get a welcome drink when we got there and realized as we were about to check out that we never heard a thing about it. We asked and they said a bit arrogantly that we were supposed to go to the bar and ask for one like (which again no one told us about) so we did when we came to get our bags later in the afternoon before heading to the airport which was nice. You also have to leave your key at reception which feels a little weird and creates overflows at reception sometimes.

TL;DR: Very poor service at reception, bad pillows, acceptable bed for a couple of nights but not good, great location, very nice view, toilet that would not flush, old hairdryer, breakfast to avoid, cleanliness OK, possible to arrive by taxi boat, disappointed overall for a 4*

This was our third stay and we weren’t disappointed.
Fabio and Irene at the front desk were particularly helpful. Rates very reasonable, hotel well located near Piazza San Marco and Theatro Fenice. Easy walk from water bus stop San Marco. Water taxi from the train station was €80 and takes about 30 minutes if you include time to load and unload. Taxi stop is right at the hotel. We didn’t opt for the breakfast and instead used the Ristorante-Bar named Al Theatro which is at the piazza fronting Theatro Fenice. Really great choices for breakfast and take-away lunch for the train ride home. Welcome drink was a nice way to begin one of our evenings. Rooms 404 and 405 basic and particularly quiet. Definite go-back for us.

First off the hotel is really nice and should get a 4 star rating. Only downside is mentioned here before and it is no shower in the bathroom. The bathroom should be refurbished and the place is perfect.
Location is also great with everything within walking distance.
Secondly I first want to point out that the receptionists working there are very friendly and always try to help.

Now the bad taste : when we arrived in the room we didn't see any information brochure and the mini fridge had only two bottles of water in it. Seeing that complimentary water isn't unusual in such high rated and prized hotels we didnt think much about it. Over the course of 3 days we took 3 bottles.
When we checked out, the bill included the 3 bottles. We mentioned to the receptionist on duty that we didnt know we had to pay for them. He was very dismissive saying that we should have known and there there was a price list in the room. My wife said there wasn't and we got the standard : I will tell the general manager.
Now it wasn't about the 9€ but about the misinformation or better lack of information. Combine that with the answers of the receptionist on duty and we left the nice hotel with a bad experience.
