My wife booked 2 nights at this hotel 2 months in advance, and several days later I booked the preceding 2 nights to make what should have been a 4 night stay. Ten days prior to our arrival my wife received an email canceling her...More
Firstly, the Google maps Location of the hotel was misleading. It was difficult for us to spot it using GPS and had to revert to paper instructions provided by the hotel. The actual location is not in a happening place and appears a bit secluded....More

First of all we would liek to say that, if our location on google maps is not correct, this is not our fault, as we noticed many times to Google our right position. Anyway on our web site there is the correct map and we...More
I realize after several years of frequenting the lovely "Locanda del Ghetto" that they certainly deserve a review. I have not posted one before, because of purely selfish reasons...this haven of bliss in the central part of the old Ghetto in Venice is my best...More
The location was absolutely perfect. Not too far from the vaporetto station that took us to and from the Marco Polo Airport.
We were able to get around very easily from the hotel to pretty much anywhere in Venice and the surrounding islands.

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
