There are many reasons that CimaRosa has earned its #1 in Venice ranking - the rooms, the ambiance, the hospitality, the location.....whichever reason matters to you, be sure to stay here when you are in Venice. The place is new and polished while remaining warm and comfortable. Valentina and Phyllis were such great hosts. Valentina always on call wherever we...

Cima Rosa was so easy to find and what a find! We opened the gate to a beautiful courtyard and were warmly greeted by Valentina. We were shown round the accommodation which was stunning and then our deluxe room overlooking the Grand Canal. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated just gorgeous.! There was a kitchen outside the bedroom to...

We had a fantastic time in our 3 nights at Cima Rosa around our wedding in Venice. We were made to feel very welcome, the rooms and courtyard were beautiful and they gave us excellent restaurant recommendations including one only two minutes walk away. They also arranged a water taxi for us and helped us out when it was late...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights at the end of September/early October to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and it was a lovely setting in which to base ourselves. Don't stay here if you're looking for all the services of a traditional hotel, but definitely come here if you appreciate a relaxed environment and helpful and attentive...

The rooms are charming overlooking the Grand Canal. The romantic theme of Venice is lovely as you view the boats travel down the Grand Canal outside your bedroom windows or from the Great Room, which is the room you enter for breakfast, the atmosphere is refreshing and delicious as well as the breakfast is too. The Host's are Gracious and...

We stayed at this B&B for 2 nights in August. Positives: Modern design and intimate setting. Good email correspondence beforehand. Friendly staffer who made good breakfast and coffee. Here is where our experience went south. We arrived in the morning as we notified the B&B upon booking. The receptionist in charge told us our room will be ready in the...

Our stay in this charming spot was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. The interest and care the proprietor demonstrates was evident in all the things we experienced. Others speak correctly of the ambience and charm that envelopes you as you enjoy the history and location. All true. But for us the icing on the cake was...

We spent a wonderful 50th anniversary overlooking the Grand Canal at Cima Rosa. I don't think we have ever enjoyed a hotel this much. The accommodations were excellent, the view was spectacular, the breakfasts were to-die-for, and the service was exceptional. Brittany, Valentina and Melody took wonderful care of our every need, and made excellent suggestions to help us enjoy...

My husband & I stayed at Cima Rosa during a recent visit to Venice and we could not have been more pleased with the accommodations, staff, location and amenities. From the moment we entered the courtyard we knew we were about to stay somewhere very special. Leading up to our stay, Brittany was very helpful & responsive over email and...

Two minute walk from San Stae vaporetto stop but incredibly peaceful location, with relaxing courtyard. Tastefully decorated, modern facilities combined with antique furniture. Spacious, light, comfortable breakfast/lounge area with 2 windows looking out to the Grand Canal. Guests have access to this all day, to make their own tea (provided), read and relax. Brittany, Melody and Valentina were wonderful hosts,...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
