Close to the train station, choose to stay here since we brought our children 20 years ago, the place looked the same except the plants and chairs outside. The room was small and they gave us the only room with the bathroom outside. We're glad...More

thanks for your feedback. We are aware the room you have reserved is the smallest we have, but it is also the cheapest option (and the one you have reserved). Concerning the rest, I do not agree with you instead, as in the...More

Despit its close proximity to the train station and friendly staffs, this hotel is inhospitable due to bedbugs. We stayed for two nights in room 214 and only noticed bedbugs in the morning when we had to catch early morning train to Rome. The hotel...More

We are hotel budget minded travelers but we insist on great locations. Albergo Marin hits both marks. It is a v10 minute walk from the train station. I looked at Google Street view before arriving so I could find the "street" they are on, it...More

Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture
universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
