Neighbourhood
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

Dear garyg446, Thank you for your kind comment, we are very happy to know that you had a great time in our hotel. The 4.5€ that you paid at the chech out was the city tax, unfortunately in Venice is not possible to include in the room rate that's why the guest have to pay extra. Hoping to welcoming back sooner, thank you for this comment becaus you helped us to improve our services. Best Regards Emanuele Buttazzo

We stayed in the Canal View Suite for two nights. It was a HUGE suite for less than 200 euros/night. 45 square meters is incredibly large for European standards. We had a foyer into our suite where we could keep our coats and shoes. There was a room with two day beds for

Dear meldaiser8, The Canal view Suite is one of the highest cathegory of the hotel and we are really happy you liked it. We change the matrasses short time ago so we always appreciated when our Guests tell us we have made a good purchase. The breakfast is not the same everyday, we try to change some small thing everyday in order to do not became boring for Guests' longer stays. Alilaguna is a good service from/to Marco Polo Airport and the hotel is connected to all the city with the Vaporetto, so you can easily reach all major sites. Looking forward for your next visit, best regards Elisa Front Desk

Hi Gary G Thank you for your message and for choosing the Carnival Palace for your stay in Venice! It’s very easy to reach us from Treviso Airport Canova! All flights are connected with a bus that takes you straight to Piazzale Roma (final stop). The bus is called ATVO. The ride lasts around 45 minutes and costs € 10.00 per person. Once you are in Piazzale Roma you can take the vaporetto number 5.2 straight to Tre Archi (4th stop). We are located 10 steps away from Tre Archi. The ride lasts 12 minutes and the ticket costs € 7.50 per person. Alternatively you can always take the water taxi from Piazzale Roma, the cost is € 60.00 per ride. Should you need additional information, please let me know! It would be a pleasure to help you! Emanuele Buttazzo Duty Manager
