We stayed for 4 nights here and had a room off reception. The hotel could not be better located - it is so central in Venice, handy for the vaporetto, and easy to find with the directions given by the hotel. It's lovely to turn off a busy street down a non-descript lane and end up in this hotel. There...

It was undergoing renovation at the time, and that is possibly why we could afford a room with a view to the grand canale. The room was spacious and the view excellent – in front of the Rialto market. A little bit busy place. I probably would return to it, even though renovation was sort of a cheap fix, depending...

Alice and Luca made our trip! We were in Italy for 17 days and no one came close to the amount of customer service we received...

Yes there were stairs and the walls looked old and the furniture wasn't amazing but that didn't bother us. Plenty of room, view was to a small canal. It did get loud on the weekend nights. Wifi was really good. Luca at the front desk was very helpful and kind. The directions they send to the hotel from the train...

We booked the room overlooking the grand canal and did not regret booking it. We took the water bus from the airport and its a good 10 min walk over some small bridges. We blindly followed google map and we were at gate of the hotel were we were buzzed in. Everyone complained about the stairs with big luggage but...

This was a lovely little hotel in a brilliant location to explore Venice. There are only 7 rooms and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served in our room which suited us perfectly. We read some reviews that said it was difficult to find and perhaps because we were expecting this to be a struggle, we actually...

Initially we were given room no. 6 which disappointed us. However the very helpful lady on reception sorted us out and our new room didn't dissapoint. Location is excellent and near stop for boat airport transfer. The view from room was amazing and would be difficult to beat.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
