Close to station. We found it thanks to Shahden our bangladesh porter. Otherwise difficult to find. Terrible receptionist. Very rude. Limited breakfast. Nothing to write about. You have luggage you are finished. So many steps to climb. Indians be careful Europe charges like anything even when their economy is doing so badly. I am proud of India. We are very...

The room was very clean and furnished with lovely old furniture. The bathroom was also clean with large fluffy towels. The only drawback was no tea or coffee making facilities, but their are lots of cafe's close by. The breakfast is confidential and was top up regularly. The staff were only to happy to help wherever they could. The hotel...

We stayed here for three nights during our week in Italy. I did a little research the day we were due to check into the hotel and noticed that check in shut at 7. I contacted the hotel to inform them we would be arriving much later, we were told the key would be left at reception...not much information there!...

We loved everything about this hotel. It is so quaint. The decor and the furniture are deliberately mismatched which adds to the ambience. Our room was basic and our Bed was comfortable. We found the location perfect too

We started at this place during Christmas break. Had a bit of problem in locating it, not signposted. The B&B has stairs only, so it's a no go for people with mobility issues. The rooms are spacious though bathrooms are small. The breakfast is nothing much to write about. Nothing earn except for coffee. It's located very close to train...

B&b's cozy, warm in winter. It's a bit hard to find, but it's the same for all Venice. It's very close to train station. The rooms are spacious. I liked it. Only one disadvantage that staff don't answer any e-mails. I thinks it's more than the best that you can find for this price.

To start out with, this place was very hard to find. After going around in circles we found it and we had to go up many stairs that are inconvenient for people who are traveling and have luggage with them. We finally see people and they don't even great us. I had to ask "is this the hotel?" to the...

We stayed here a few weekends ago, great location & easy to find. Room was nice although needs a full length mirror. Few nice local restaurants nearby too. Able to store bags there until our flight which was a bonus too.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
