Prime location!! The Marconi hotel is conveniently located on the Grand Canal next to the Rialto bridge. The hotel serves a great breakfast and the front desk staff was very helpful in suggesting activities since we had never been to Venice before. The rooms are small but clean. There's no hotel elevator, but we didn't mind since we were on...

This hotel is just steps from the Rialto Bridge. Being my first trip to Venice, I was relieved when I was able to find my hotel so easily. There are many other hotels in Venice, but some are tucked away in the city and on more than one occasion, we saw other tourists dragging their bags to their hotel through...

I paid for a superior double and booked it directly via their own web-site as on lastminute and expedia they both stated that there was nothing available. Carlos responded to my emails very quickly and he gave me a 10% discount off the published web-site prices. On arrival I was greated by Carlos and was initially disappointed with my room...

Spent 3 days at the Hotel Marconi in Veneto and enjoyed every minute! Thanks to the efficiency of the Hotel Clerks - Carlo, Simone, and Frederico - we truly had a memorable stay. They were more than willing to help any way that they could. The hotel was clean, and the breakfasts were excellent - the two ladies who served...

We arrived in the middle of the day and a porter helped with our bags. With no elevator this could be a problem as others have experienced if there is no porter. The rooms are small but well appointed. We were there during cool weather so we liked opening the windows. This was a problem because of the noise. However,...

The hotel was superior as to location and services provided. The staff; especially Carlos the day manager was willing and able to help in all respects. Other amenities were well appreciated and the staff made our stay a refreshing experience.

We stayed three nights at the Hotel Marconi and since everyone has had varying experiences there I thought I would add ours. We had a large room with three operating windows with absolutely no views but, at least, when they were closed it was very quiet. We were on the fourth floor with no elevator. It wasn't a problem for...

We booked the Marconi for 2 nights way back in February. On arrival we were told by Carlos that a computer virus on their system disrupted their booking system, therefore we would have to move to a different hotel in the centre of town. I told Carlos of having read various reports right here of overbookings with the excuse of...

We've just returned from a 2 week stay in Italy, where we spent our last 4 nights at the Hotel Marconi in Venice. Before you stay at this hotel you should read this! 1. When we arrived we were told there was a problem with our Standard Double room and we would have to stay in a "small" room for...

stayed at the Hotel Marconi last week and had a great experience. Perfect location, and found the Staff outstanding. A little noisy, but it was a tradeoff to be in such a central location.

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
