We enjoyed Hotel Bel Sito on our first visit to Venice. The staff are extremely accommodating with excellent recommendations for sight seeing and dining. Rooms are comfortable, surprisingly spacious and reasonably quiet. Breakfast includes honeycomb which is delicious. The hotel also has a water door so it is perfect for water taxi access.

Fantastic and quirky...room was small but fine for our three night stay. They accommodated my additional request for flowers, wine & chocolates in the room on arrival. Breakfast was a varied selection for all tastes and the staff were friendly and attentive. Perfectly sited to explore the area yet quiet of an evening...fantastic.

Hotel very well located, just 2 minutes from water bus / taxi drop off/pick up. Less than 10 minute walk to St Marks Square. Friendly staff although service could be a bit on the slow side. Hotel clean, room size ok for a city hotel, the room we stayed in had a small but functional bathroom. No tea / coffee...

I travelled to Venice with my 76 year old mother. Close proximity to amenities was an important feature and Bel Sito certainly satisfied our needs.Located very close to the vaporetto stop and close to restaurants and shops it was the perfect place for our brief visit.Friendly and accomodating staff and the hotels charm were bonus features.Would definitely stay here again.

A lovely hotel walking distance from the water taxi stop, St. Marks Square and other attractions including high-end shopping. The rooms are beautiful, small and clean but the bathrooms are small. Breakfast was good with a variety of choice, including warm dishes. The hotel staff was extremely friendly, always went the extra mile to help and accommodate.

First trip to Italy so we wanted to start with a small hotel in a good central location. Hotel Bel Sito is just that, a lovely water taxi ride from the airport to zone one stop and a very short walk down a small but beautiful plaza brought us to the hotel. Our 2nd floor room has a magnificent view...

A very nice, comfortable hotel ideally located for St Mark's Square, Rialto and the Vaporetto lines. The room my wife and I had was on the small side, but for only two nights it was quite acceptable. The air conditioning was most welcome. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were very well looked after. In fact on the...

A 4th trip to Venice but first actual stop over...the Bel Sito is a small family run hotel with lift where nothing is too much of a problem to sort...rooms in classic style it is B&B only but somewhere we would definitely return....excellent central location to main sights

My wife and I stayed here for one week in August, 2016. Room 131 overlooking the piazza and beautiful facade of the Santa Maria del Giglio Church. Very quiet and great location - easy walk to Piazza San Marco, the vaparetto and a number of outstanding restaurants (Vino Vino, Trattoria da Fiore). The rooms are priced at a great value....

The staff was extremely professional and helpful. We stayed one night in Venice for our European honeymoon and wish we had spent more time! We had a room that overlooked the church across the street, at night we could see local artists painting the sunset. So beautiful! I loved the decor and comfort of our room, and the breakfast was...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
