Charming hotel in the city centre, amiable reception, very good breakfast for a 3* hotel. Highly recommended. Go for the recommendations of the reception about the places to eat. Venice is a tourist trap if you do not know all the secrets

I am just about to leave Venice after staying here for four nights with some friends/colleagues for an iternational conference. The hotel is near the Giglio Vaporetto stop, in easy walking distance from the Teatro La Fenice and near both the Piazza San Marco and the Accademia - and yet it is an oasis of peace and quiet. The double...

I will not go into detail, only say that the first room we were given was terrible. It was tiny and depressing. A second room was very nice and we enjoyed our four day stay. The staff were excellent and always friendly and helpful. Our room, while it lacked a view of the campo which would have been preferable, was...

I stayed two nights in this brilliant gem of a hotel! Everything about my experience was absolutely lovely. The hotel staff were welcoming and friendly upon arrival, and so supremely courteous I felt the strain of my long day of travel melt away instantly. My room was precisely as I'd requested, a cosy single with a view. The room was...

We stayed here for 4 nights in March. It is in an excellent location: 5 mins walk from the water bus stop of Giglio. (The orange Alilaguna boat from the airport takes just over an hour & the no.1 bus goes up the Grand Canal from the same place). 10 mins walk gets you to St. Mark's Square. The rooms...

Very good hotel with unique atmosphere. Very, very kind and extremely helpful personnel in reception desk and restaurant. Good breakfast. Very good localisation, close to San Marco Sqare but not in a loud area - perfect for me. Hotel is also very clean.

We stayed there for 5 nights in march. The location is perfect (only 5 mins away from san marco and other touristic sites while located on a very quiet charming square facing the church), nice bedrooms, beautiful hotel, good breakfast. all that you can expect from a 3 stars.

Superb customer relations, attentive friendly staff. You were made to feel at home while visiting Venice. Great breakfast, something for everyone. Location was key. In the heart of Venice, but tucked away in a quiet, less crowded area, perfect for our tastes. Highly recommended. We will be returning.

Great location, quiet yet just a few minutes away from San Marco. Staff very helpful. Room was Venetian style and comfortable. Breakfast choice very good. Relaxing stay and good value. Wifi installation was changed while we were there which should provide improved speed.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
