The room was great, very comfy bed and very clean rooms. Breakfast was very good, great selection and all of the staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. The hotel is a little bit out of the main town of Venice, but is situated in a very quiet area which was absolutely perfect for us.

Unfortunately, this hotel has gone downhill. The staff and especially the manager were extremely rude to us and they raised the price on us by 100% after we made the reservation. We will no longer stay here when in Venice.

Was very satisfied with this hotel when my wife and I visited Venice for a 3 night stay. After flying into Venice airport, we took the Orange Line on the Boat Taxi (bought tickets inside the airport baggage area) to the Ca'Rezzonico stop (the seventh stop). From there it was less than a 5 minute walk to the hotel. Quiet...

Great staff who are helpfull. Average hotel and is a 3 star, with a fair price, as I expected, i would come back again. Breakfast good, rooms small as most Italian hotels. Did have to supply my own water for coffee/tea in the room. But they did supply coffee etc in the rooms which is a plus. All up very...

Myself and my wife stayed at the Pausania for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The breakfast is simple but enough of what you need. Staff are very helpful. We did pay for the upgrade to a canal view so cannot say what the normal rooms are like but our room 210 was great. I would recommend this hotel as...

Nice staff, clean towels daily and nice breakfast. Disappointed with state of room especially for a special occasion as it could do with a repaint and freshen up of bed spreads but would stay again as loved the location.

Lovely little hotel only 10 minutes walk from Pl Roma. Reception and staff very friendly and efficient. A nice area of Venice to stay. Would thoroughly recommend! Only point to mention is the steep big gothic wonky stone staircase. For those who find stairs a problem then please ask for a downstairs room.

Lovely hotel, great location meaning in a quiet spot but easy to get anywhere. The staff were friendly and a guy happily took my bags upstairs, I suggest you only stay if your happy with stairs and they are stairs that make you feel drunk even if your not. It's a lovely old stairs case which suits the hotel which...

Sweet, historic place close to the vaporetto stop at Ca' Rezzonico. 14th Century House on a small canal just a few meters away from Campo San Barnaba in the Dorsoduro District. 15 minutes walk from Piazzale Roma, Rialto and Accademia. It's away from the tourist mayhem which is a massive 'plus'. Rooms are lovely, although some don't have 'picture windows'...

Work out which water taxi you require before you get there, then its quite easy to find your hotel by following the canal. An older hotel with stone stairs that lean to the left, nice room with art on the ceiling. Breakfast was fine, the orange juice left a bit to be desired, more like orange coloured water. The conceirge...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This palace was a rich and magnificent residence of an aristocratic Venetian family, now it is an elegant and refined 3 stars Hotel, completely restored. The Hotel enjoys of an interesting position, preferred by the intellectuals and artists, searching for quiet and inspiration. Inside the Hotel, at the entrance, there is a stoned staircase that goes from the lobby to the second floor, once called "piano nobile", where there are some rooms. The intelligent restoration has effected a correct and balanced compromise between aesthetical demands and the non-renounced functional requirements, essential an hotel that wants to keep step with the times. The rooms, in typical Venetian style, are furnished with elegance and good taste, with all comforts (private bathroom with bathtub, hairdryer, cable TV, direct dial telephone, mini-bar, air-conditioned, coffee and thea machine). Our clients can also enjoy of a lightly and roomy sitting-room on the second floor, a bar on the ground floor with a free internet point, and a nice and big veranda overlooking the garden, where the buffet breakfast is served in the morning. ... more   less
