Venice is very busy in the summer but this little hotel was such a wonderful oasis to return to each night. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The hotel is beautiful with quiet rooms and wonderful beds. Breakfast was delicious. Would stay here again in a moment.

We loved our 2 night stay a few weeks ago, hotel is beautiful in every aspect, original building about 300 years old with sensitive renovation and restoration. Lovely décor and breakfast room, especially garden courtyard for breakfast. Rooms were quiet and we slept well. Free hifi was great too. Staff professional, friendly and courteous and seemed to enjoy their work....

This was our second visit, the last 7 years ago, and nothing has changed. A lovely family run Hotel minutes from St Marks Square, but tucked back down a small alley away from all the noise. The Rooms are not huge, but not a problem, as there are so many other plus factors. Location, Staff, Service., Décor, Garden. with Breakfast...

We could not have chosen a better hotel for our first visit to Venice. The garden was wonderful for breakfast and our evening wine. The rooms were immaculate and the walk to St Marks was less than 5 minutes. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They even arranged a private water taxi to Murano free of charge. The breakfast...

The room was small. Lucky we only had one big luggage otherwise there won't be enough space to store it. The garden area was to have nice cuppa tea there. nothing really outstanding or really bad.....

Placed in the end of a narrow street, this hotel joins the great location with the calm and silence which is quite difficult to get in Venice. The staff is very attentive and helpful. However, the hotel already passed its golden years. The structure is quite old and un-updated. The age of the furniture and decoration may give you a...

To start off, the greeting and smile one receives as you walk through the doors is as sincere as it gets. Sergio, is the sweetest and most helpful of all the people we came across in Venice! We got off the cruise ship very early in the morning and checked in. He asked if we were up to doing some...

My 14 year old daughter and I stayed here for 10 nights late July and it became a home away from home -- we took a day trip to Florence and arrived back to the hotel around 10:30 pm and the night staff cooked my daughter a beautiful plate of pasta -- better than some that she had in restaurants!...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
