This was our return visit to Venice after the over two-year saga of aqua alta followed by Covid. The Bucintoro remains our favorite hotel in Venice and all was consistent with our previous stays. The rooms of course maintain their comfort and wonderful views of the water. The service was also impeccable, especially the service at breakfast, which is no longer a buffet due to Covid restrictions (just as well to avoid the temptation to partake of too many pastries!). The staff was uniformly helpful with confirmation of dinner reservations and water taxis. A current issue for Americans is the requirement of a negative Covid test before departure back to the U.S. Despite the many local pharmacies listed online that offer testing, none seemed available to us (too much paperwork for foreigners and backlogs of locals requiring testing). Fortunately, Stefano was able to book us into Bielo-Hub, an immaculate and extremely efficient clinic near the bus terminal where we obtained the rapid test on the day before departure. Grazie mille Stefano!

Hotel's Favourite
We’ve stayed in a few different hotels in Venice so far & this one is by far the best! #1. From my research, a room with a water view usually costs quite a lot more & in some places you have a wall a few feet from your window, but it’s true that every room in Bucintoro Hotel gets a lagoon view! #2 The staff here are all top notch! From the free upgrade to our room without us asking for it to the charming & extra-ordinarily accommodating Manager Stefano & the cheery, friendly breakfast staff as well as all of the other staff there who give the utmost, over & above service they can. We got the breakfasts included room which was fresh, quality European style as well as top notch pastry selections. #3 We saved a lot of money on the transportation & tour of a Murano glass factory & even had our own private water taxi there & back. #4 The rooms were very clean & the deep, comfortable bathtub was a refuge after a few chilly walks in the time of year we were here. Stefano provided blankets on those days for us to sit outside & enjoy the view. #5 On the last day Stefano even gave us a parting gift which was a beautiful reed diffuser! I may have even missed a few things to add to the amazing quality for our stay here but I certainly couldn’t ask for more! This hotel went over & above our expectations!

There are many reasons we love this hotel.. Our room had a great view of the lagoon and the city, the building has been styled and decorated as if it were an elegant ship and their breakfast was very complete, fresh and delicious. We look forward to be able to return. It is a comfortable, safe, well lite walk from St. Mark's Square and a water taxi can pick you up right by the hotel. Wonderful experience.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Bucintoro for three nights in October in the Classic Room with Lagoon View. This was our favorite stay in Italy. The service was excellent and friendly, the bed was extremely comfortable, the location war far enough away from the main areas to be quiet but close enough not to be remote, and the view of the lagoon toward St. Marks' square was so beautiful each morning and evening. Do note that the hotel is about 10-15 walk to St. Mark's square, and going up and down the bridges along the route can get old fast if you have to do it frequently. There is a close water bus station, though, so if you can use that, the hotel's location is even better.

While the room was a little small, and water was provided in the rooms on only your first night (which seems a little mean given the cost of plastic bottles of water) we couldn’t fault anything else about the hotel. The whole hotel was spotless, the staff were friendly, the location is perfect and the views, I could easily believe, are the best you’ll find in any hotel in Venice with a view of the campanile and Pizza San Marco, as well as the lagoon.

Dear James O, In my name and in the name of all the Bucintoro Staff, I would like to thank you very much for the kind review you wrote and above all for the kind words you used about us. We have taken note of your kind suggestions and these will be brought to the attention of our general manager for careful evaluation. Unfortunately Venice is a historic city and it is difficult in old palaces to have large spaces. We would be happy and also proud to have you once again aboard our Bucintoro. Best regards Stefano and all the Bucintoro Staff
