My daughter and I stayed for 2 nights at the Hotel Bernardi. We booked a double with a shared bathroom. I was a little apprehensive at first, not knowing what to expect especially sharing a bathroom with other people. However, our stay was more than...More
I've traveled extensively and this modest hotel in Venice ranks the highest I've ever seen in value or price paid. Clean, good location, accommodating reception. I booked a single, shared bath room in July knowing my room didn't have air conditioning. However there was a...More
Although we didn't encounter bed bugs I have to say that this hotel is less than clean. In one room there was rubbish in the bin from the previous occupant, another room had a used band aid stuck to the bedspread and in another room...More

Completely false and absurd!!!
The first time I read it, i thought: "oh my God, is that one of E.A. Poe's short stories? what a fantasy!" Yes, because our rooms are very clean and comfortable and i simply can't believe my eyes when someone "dit...More
This two star hotel was great. The staff was helpful and we had a room in their annex a few streets down. The room was quiet, faced an interior courtyard and had a sweet partial canopy bed. The air conditioning in the room worked very...More
It was absolutely horrible!!!! We stayed only 1 night and that was enough for us to be completely covered in bed bug bites! The hotel was hard to find, there are no elevators (and the stairwell is tiny), and our entire backs were covered with...More

This is not absolutely true! We have never had such a problem! We have been running this hotel for 25 years and cleanness has always been very important for us! And it is strange that after months that guess writes such a review! moreover no...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
