Everything went perfect with this venue; since the online booking the personnel was reactive in responding to my requests and offering me a superior room with four windows overlooking the canals. Cleanness of the room, comfort of the bed and provided amenities contributed to making the room very comfortable. Breakfast was also of very good quality. Throughout the stay the...

Excellent hotel, great location, staff extremely helpful. Breakfast buffet extensive. Very small shower but room, amenities, view, are great. Warning: no elevator! There are some rooms on ground floor if you don't like stairs.

If you want a long weekend in a quite, cozy, and excellently located spot in Venice off season then this is it. Our first visit and my in-laws fourth (they like it a lot and let's just say that they're Parisian and that their occupation makes them experts on travel accomodations...). The alleyway-like approach (literally the VERY first turn from...

Very friendly staff and the buffet breakfast every morning was yum! Make sure you have a map if you're walking from the bus stop especially at night time though. A couple of scary looking alleyways on the way but as it turned out there was nothing to be afraid of!

Dear Aonghasa, thank You so much for Your kind and excellent review in this large travelers community! We are so glad You enjoyed our Staff and breakfast. Semi-dark and tight alleys are part of the magic of Venice, and as a Venetian sometimes I still enjoy a glance of such magic. We hope to welcome You again very soon at...

Located just around the corner for the Accademia bridge just off the Grand Canal. This was an excellent place to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful – they really made us feel welcome. It was a short walk from to the Piazza San Marco, shopping area, and museums making for a perfect central location. We returned in 2016,...

This is one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. It is like being in a film set or a museum with fabulous furniture, suits of armour, porcelain and old things of great interest. Our room was comfortable, albeit a little warm, with plenty of space and great views of the canal from the window. Breakfast was excellent...

Dear SnowBrian, thank You very much for Your kind review! We are so glad You loved our establishment, the ambience and the room so much. We are so sorry You had this kind of perception of our Staff, and I'm sure that it must've been some kind of misunderstanding, since we do not recognize ourselves in the behavior You describe;...

Our 3 nights in Venice were enhanced by our stay at the fabulous Pensione Accademia. Close enough to allow you to walk to everything while it's quiet location in Dursodoro got us away from the crowds. An excellent breakfast offering and helpful staff. I would certainly stay here again when in Venice.

We were here for 4 nights on our first visit to Venice. What a wonderful experience at this hotel. The rooms are small, as are many in Europe, as we Americans are always accustomed to LARGE everything. However, there was room for two large suitcases, and all amenities there you would need. We do not live in our room when...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
