This is a pretty little property perfectly situated a few blocks (no bridges!) from the Rialto vaporetto stop (most routes stop there). Staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful to a fault. Our 4th floor room (alert: the elevator stops at three) was compact, but included a lovely little terrace with an ideal view of St Marks bell tower. Breakfast was...

Around 5 minute's walk from Saint Mark's Square, you couldn't ask for a better location. Its splendour is a bit faded and the rooms are 'compact' but the bed was comfy, the room clean and the en-suite excellent with a lovely powerful shower. Coffee making facilities would have been nice. The breakfast room is a little crowded but as a...

The service we received from the staff was excellent, the amenities meet our needs, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and bedroom was warm, having a heated towel rail. The breakfast was varied and the breakfast room was nicely laid out and the staff were helpful and pleasant.

Room was compact (could have been slightly more generous) but stylish and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was good. Staff were superb - helpful and friendly. Perfectly located between The Rialto and Piazza San Marco.

As a first time visitor to Venice and as a senior, I chose this hotel based on the location (including ease of arriving with luggage - no bridges) and the price - reasonable for Venice. It was a ten minute walk either way to the Rialto Bridge, a great area for dining and shopping, or to San Marco Square, with...

Great location to get to the sights. Helpful staff, good clean room, breakfast buffet ok. No kettle ,and tv all Italian( no surprise there). Still, you'll not be in the room long enough. If you're a light sleeper, the church bells start 7am, nerve mind, you'll get used to them! Oh and the music from the restaurant next door!

We stayed at this hotel for four nights. The location is excellent, 2 minutes walk from Rialto and 5 minutes from St Mark's Square. The room was decorated in typical Italian style and was plenty large enough. Breakfast was sufficient with quite a good choice although the dining room can get a little crowded. All the staff were very pleasant...

We stayed for four nights. The room was decorated very nicely and the beds comfortable and clean. Bathroom was a little small but adequate. No English in room. Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
