We couldn't have expected more! On our second trip to Venice we thought Residenza la loggia was a perfect choice - and we weren't wrong! The hotel is just off a main road and perfect distance from Rialto and San Marco. The room we had was gloriously decorated with cream detailed drapes, walls and bedding. The room was very clean...

We chose La Loggia through Booking.com. It turned out to be a great location superior service. Mateo (owner) went out of his way to be of service. When we got close and couldn't find it, he said stay where we are and he'd come get us. When we left, he helped carry our luggage to the water taxi a block...

This is a quick walk to the square, yet quiet location. Plenty of shopping, restaurants and coffee shops. Mateo is kind, available and helpful. Sent us several restaurant suggestions before the trip and offered to make reservations. Breakfast is served directly to your room

We were late on arrival, and there was a sign on the door, no check in after 10:00 p.m. It took us over an hour to find the place! Location was very hard to find room was old and tired. It was clean... For the $$$'s spent there are other options in better locations.

Dear guest, in every website the check-in time is very clear. In your case, you booked a room from hotels.com and you knew the check-in ends at 9.30pm. The sign outside the door said:" check-in ends at 9.30pm, for late arrival please use the night time bell". You arrived almost at 1am and we did immediately the check-in without problems...

We stayed at La Loggia in May as a couple. We were sent excellent directions beforehand and didn't get lost (which can be very easy in Venice). La Loggia is down a little side street (very close to St Marks Square) but when you opened the from door it was a different world. Beautifully decorated. Our room was lovely and...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
