Having visited The Gritti Palace many times now, every visit has been perfect and I always look forward to returning time and time again. The building itself being a Venetian Gothic palazzo on Canal Grande with spectacular views of the Salute and the Canal couldn't be better. The décor of the public spaces and rooms are historical in feel and luxury surrounds you. The Bathrooms are some of the finest I've ever encountered in a hotel and are clad in beautiful marble of varying colours. The bar, whether sat inside or on the terrace taking in the views is truly one of the world's greatest pastimes. The restaurant serves fantastic Venetian cuisine, has an exceptional wine list and the dining room itself is just as beautiful as the rest of the hotel. The service and the concierge are truly world class as expected. You must visit The Gritti Palace at least once in your lifetime, even if it is just for a drink or some food, it really is that great and is certainly one of the world's finest hotels.…
What a fantastic stay. Stunning location and restaurant views on the Grand Canal, super friendly front of house staff. Beautifully decorated room and sumptuous bathroom. Extremely helpful concierge was a big plus. Lovely breakfast with excellent quality ingredients.
Truly the best service I have ever experienced & better than ANY where in the world I have been. The concierge service and head concierge Ivan were so incredibly special And really appreciated the care and going the extra miles to help us have the most amazing 23 hours in Venice
The cocktail bar waiters will give you just a scanning menu without asking whether you have a device with which to scan. Cocktails are not special although the decor is as pretty as it ever was. There is a feeling of cost saving. Even their hot chocolate was this and lukewarm where it used to be thick, and creamy and piping hot. Pity.
We have been fortunate to have visited Venice nearly a dozen times in the last 35 years with our last 6 stays in this hotel. The location is one of the best next to the Grand Canal and opposite the church Santa Maria de Salute, (which is beautiful at night when lit) yet only a few minutes walk to St Mark's Square and the rest of the city. It is also very peaceful as not on a main thoroughfare, but has a Gondola and a traghetto (public gondola type boat for crossing the canal) next to it. The hotel is very luxurious in a typical "old" Italian style , staff are very friendly and helpful . Due to Covid the restaurant/bar menu are very restricted at this time only.
