The property was charming, the food was delicious, and the staff was exceptional! The location of the property was relatively close to the train station, and the décor of the property was so cute. The shower did leave just a bit to be desired.

We came to Venice as part of our Italian holiday. I booked this hotel because of the reviews it received on this site. There were four adults in our room which was a bit cramped although clean and charming. The staff was fantastic, very courteous and helpful. Two that really stood out were Martha at the front desk and Marco...

After carefully researching our hotel options, we chose this hotel for our stay prior to our cruise. We cannot say enough about how wise this choice was... If you are in Venice for the first time, this is the hotel to book! The 3 star rating does not do it justice. The primary reason for staying at this hotel is...

This hotel is in the best location for exploring all the sights of Venice. Its is situated right near all forms of transport, so it was great for us to hop on and off the vaporetta. The staff were so helpful and sorted us out with an evening trip on a gondala, which was so romantic. The rooms were tastefully...

My brother and sister in law recommended this hotel for us, for a two night stay prior to boarding a 24 day Mediterranean cruise this summer. It was fabulous. We were somewhat apprehensive as we didn't know what to expect after reading so many reviews about taking luggage over bridges, etc. This hotel is located just one small bridge away...

This hotel is situated near Piazzale Roma, the Grand Canal and the walking paths to e.g. san Marco. The hotel has its own beautiful garden as well as a canal running by. A friendly staff and great food (the breakfast buffet was very nice - we even got dark bread!). We - parents and teenager son - got a superb...

We spent a night post-cruise at the lovely Hotel Olimpia. We disembarked quite early and took the People Mover to the Piazzale Roma, crossed one bridge that was manageable, even though we had way too much luggage, and arrived at the hotel within about 10 minutes of leaving the ship. It is located right across from the bus and vaporetto...

We researched Venice hotels for our 3-night pre-cruise stay in September 2014. I found many outstanding reviews here on Trip Advisor. And those reviews were accurate. Excellent hotel. Reasonable price. Very charming and clean. The desk staff were extremely helpful (the young man pictured here on the main page on Trip Advisor is a gem = Andre, I believe his...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
