Great hotel, very beautiful, staff very polite and helpful, particularly loved the outdoor garden area. Great location, extremely close to the Cruise ship port and relatively close to airport. Was fairly easy to transport luggage to as well. Highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for one evening and it was a great experience. The front desk person and the person who brought our luggage up to our room were very friendly and helpful. This hotel is in a good location, it's not far from the people mover and garage. We had two rooms, one of the rooms had a view of...

Hotel Olympia was really a hidden gem. Booked prior to and day after cruise. Location is perfect for getting to and from cruise terminal on people mover and was super easy to get a cab to/from airport with very minimal time carrying luggage over canals. The rooms were cute, clean and comfortable and there is even a bar off the...

We picked the Olimpia for its excellent location mainly. We were joining a cruise and wanted something within staggering distance of the People Mover to the port.Arriving by Airport Bus to Piazzale Roma it was around 5 mins away with two large cases with only one bridge and steps to cope with. Our room was 307 which was a 2 room loft...

This was our 2nd visit to the Olympia and once again we have had a truly enjoyable stay. It’s a great location (10 mins from the station, tram and bus terminus) beside a quite canal and unusually has a lovely secluded terrace and garden at the rear of the hotel, where you can take breakfast or an evening drink. Talking...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
