I was very happy to stay here. It was clean and spacious. Our room had two bedrooms, two full baths. a walk in closet in the smaller bedroom, and a kitchen/common room. It was well kept and being in the off travel season the price was great. I would absolutely recommend this to any traveler looking for a nice Venetian...

Our 2 nights at Al Bailo were a highlight. The 2 bedroom apt had lots of room for 5 with a huge loft and another seperate bedroom, living room areas and a kitchen. Location was close to everything but nicely out of the way of the main tourist zone. Would definitely return if in Venice again!

A clean, well-appointed apartment close to all main attractions and very reasonably priced. Emma was very helpful and organised all transfers. The welcome basket was a very nice touch and came in handy. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

I unfortunately did not recover my bag in Venice airport -- it apparently was lost in Amsterdam in transfer. I was heading off to a cruise following my stay. Veronica from Al Bailo di Venezia was truly unbelievable - she went above and beyond. Of her own accord, she followed up while I was away multiple times with the airport...

An excellent spot to access all the main tourist spots but far enough away to be in one of the quieter areas. Rooms are spacious, clean and well kept however both our bed and dishwasher did not work when arrived. Bed fixed promptly. We were in room 103 and would recommend against it if you want daylight as there is...

The location is superb! it is located at the quieter side of the city center and steps away from all the shops and restaurants. Spacious and clean. We were traveling as a couple but the one bedroom apartment is probably big enough for a family of 5. There's a small grocery store across the apartment for all the daily supplies....

Our family stayed two nights at this charming hotel on a lovely canal. The best part of the roomy,a/c,apartment was the balcony overlooking the canal and walkway below. We sipped wine and people watched after a day of wandering and site seeing. Lots of locals in the neighborhood. A short walk to the city's best gelato shop, restaurants and sires...

We were blown away by the 2 bedroom apartment in a beautiful location about 15 mins walk from St Marks square. Modern, spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything you needed. There were 2 bathrooms which had double wide showers and one also had a bath. Very helpful staff who advised us where to find a nearby supermarket and also recommended a...

An amazing hotel! Both apartments were spacious and clean, very well organized and well equipped. The staff was very kind and helpful. We received our room earlier and a few treats were left in the kitchen. The view from one of the rooms was toward the canal. Cafes and restaurants nearby, and a small supermarket, as well. The vaporetto not...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
