This is a very nice hotel. The staff is more than friendly and helpful. Just ask for Marco and he'll make your day happy. The rooms are small but comfortable and the breakfast is very good. Location is excellent, couldn´t be better.

When we arrived, the hotel staff was more than friendly and extremely helpful. They let us check in early as our room was ready. It was considered a jr. suite and perfect for my grandson and me as we each had a small room. My bed was not very comfortable but my expectations were not high either so it was...

More than we could have hoped for - especially for the price! Every single staff member was more than helpful, the rooms were great, the view amazing as was the location! Literally 2 minutes walk from St Mark's square, restaurants, shops and much much more. Don't even worry about the noise! We will be returning for sure!

Found this hotel on Expedia with my basic requirement of close to St Mark's Square and had an elevator and included breakfast. My this place was so much more!!! We loved the location, so close to everything. The breakfast was great, I loved the expresso machine so you could make your coffee as you like it. Our room was very...

The biggest plus of this hotel is its location. You are steps away from St Marks Square. Transfer from the Airport via the Alilaguna boat to San Marco was easy and a pleasureable way to arrive in Venice. Reception staff were friendly and efficient at all times. The room was in good condition and kept very clean and tidy by...

The staff were friendly, the rooms quaint but clean with all the amenities. Breakfast was excellent. The location was perfect - close to Piazza San Marco - very easy to find. Took the Aliguna Water Bus to the piazza and it was just a short walk to the hotel.

Excellent choice right near St.Marks Square. Very warm welcome and efficient, no fuss check in. Bags taken to room immediately. Room smallish as expected, but very clean and had all we wanted except mini safe. Bathroom with shower and bath was spotlessly clean and had plenty of hot water! Breakfast was fine with a good choice of pastries, fruit, scrambled...

The hotel was exactly as described. Our room was at the back of the hotel which made it nice and quiet. We only used the room to sleep and to come back to in the afternoon to change and have a rest before dinner. The room was spacious enough and there was a large wardrobe with plenty of shelving for...

We have been to Venice a number of times, just wish we had stayed here on previous visits. The location couldn`t be better, the staff were very helpful and always had a smile. The room was lovely and spacious (214) clean sheets every day and a turn down service. Breakfast was plentiful and in pleasant dining room. Just one thing...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
