It's difficult not to rate everything in Venice as exceptional- it is such an amazing city. That being said, I have to make an exception with this hotel. Although it's in a wonderful location and the service is good, the rooms are very worn and tired. The carpeting is stained and years past their prime- the walks are marred with... More

The last time we stayed at the Luna Baglioni my wife and I were celebrating our 40th birthdays. We had decided to return to Venice to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and we had no hesitation in returning to this fabulous hotel. A lot can change over four+ years but I'm pleased to report it did not disappoint. There were... More

The location of this hotel can not be beaten in Venice. 10 steps away from all the shops and San Marco square, 10 mins walk to Rialto bridge area. You can get out from the sea taxi right in front of the hotel so no need to carry your luggages or walk a long way either. The rooms are nice... More

Stayed in 2008 winter. I knew the hotel from Baglioni in London, where they have a great bar which we have used occasionally, so have chosen to stay here. Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
