From welcome to goodbye the hotel was a wonderful experience. Courteous, helpful and wanting to ensure we were looked after throughout our stay. Room with canalside view was beautiful, kept clean and tidy daily. Breakfast in an open courtyard with plenty of choice throughout the opening times. Roof top bar to slide into the evening with waiter service from attentive bar staff (thanks Daniel). Concierge, front of house, everything just great. The hotel has a coolness about it without having to try too hard. Lastly, situated within or very close by (minutes) to shops, restaurants, historic attractions. Well done management team and all the staff employed.
We had a great experience at the Splendid Hotel in Venice. The location is excellent, very close to St. Marks square, but at the same time quiet enough to have a good rest. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is very pretty, lots of areas to sit and relax, a very nice rooftop terrace and a cozy dining area. Breakfast is very good, lots of options to meet guests preferences. The standard bedroom is not big but spacious enough, super clean, nicely decorated, the bed and pillows super confortable, good A/C, very good wifi. The bathroom is comfortable, amenities are good quality and plenty, nice towels, the shower has great water pressure and the hair dryer is a good one! I would definitely stay there again. The chocolates and biscuits sent to the bedroom were a nice touch!…
I researched a number of hotels and finally picked this one for location and its water taxi launch. It was just what I wanted. Our room looked out on the water and we enjoyed the combination of a canal without the noise. We found breakfast delicious and the staff extremely accommodating . They were careful to have guests mask which we appreciated while getting our food. We took a water taxi from the airport and it pulled up to the dock and the porter got all our luggage-what a treat. The ride in was fantastic and alleviated my desire to take a gondola ride! The hotel arranged for us to be picked up and taken to Murano for a glass making demonstration.Because it was free,I thought it might include a pressured sales pitch, but wanted to see the glass making process. We took the first pick up time and had a very pleasant trip over from "our doorstep." The demonstration was excellent and the sales pitch was only in earnest if you showed an interest in buying. Otherwise, you were left to wander . I highly recommend going as early as possible to avoid crowds. We chose a Saturday for Murano when we assumed the city of Venice would be more crowded. It worked well. Our thanks to Hotel Splendid.I would choose it again.…
Our entire family loved the hotel. The rooms were a good size and very clean. The towels even smelled good! Bathroom was large and also very clean. The hotel has it’s own mooring which is very convenient, especially when you have luggage. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good as was room service. We did not eat dinner at the hotel but it appeared very nice every time we walked by. Location was very central and could walk out of the hotel to many shops and restaurants. We would definitely stay at this hotel again!
Bar Manager attempted to charge my wife €5 for a small jug of milk for her tea. She doesn’t like to UHT that’s in the room so asked for a small amount of milk for her tea. Bar Manager tried to rip her off by charging her €5. Shocking and such a disappointment from a nice hotel. Totally spoiled our experience of a nice hotel. Be warned as this is not the behaviour you expect from a 4 star hotel. Shame on the hotel manager for profiteering and taking advantage of customers who are paying handsomely to stay at the hotel. Great hotel and great weekend!! We were there for 2 nights. The room was amazing, as well as the staff and location. It was the perfect weekend. We will definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Venice!!
We decided to spend our honeymoon long weekend at this hotel in mid Feb. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were greeted by the hotel staff and took control of our cases. We checked in with ease and the front desk staff were very nice and courteous and we had everything explained to us. You do need to put a credit card on file as there is a local tax to be paid when you leave ( [plus paying for anything out of the mini bar ), which was £27 (UK GBP). The room was very plush and i have to say, immaculate. We could not find a single thing wrong with the room or the amenities, bed was also very comfy. Breakfast was continental with sausage and bacon in a hot plate and scrambled eggs. This was my only real disappointment as the sausages and bacon were always cold. That aside though, the main continental breakfast was very nice, constantly being topped up and all fresh. We were only bed and breakfast, so, i cannot comment on midday or evening meals, although the menu looked very nice, expensive, but nice ( one of the starters was 40 Euro's, for example ). Location wise, this hotel was perfect for us as it was surrounded by lots of shops, bars and food places. It takes a few mins to St Marks Square, which is stunning. What made our local experience better was that we were there while the carnival was on so there were loads of locals all dressed up on their regalia. Do not be under any illusion, its expensive there. The farther you move away from St Marks, the cheaper it gets and that includes food, drink and other things like memento's etc. If you are after good night time pubs, the Irish Bar and Bacaro Jazz...excellent times had in both of these. Look out for all the bra's decorating the celling in the Bacaro Bar. To sum up, superb hotel, great location, perfect staff.…
Very nice upscale hotel in excellent location. Rooms beautifully renovated and clean. Common areas classy and beautiful. Service also very good. Restaurant also very nice if you feel like staying in. Only improvement is the breakfast in covid times which can take a long time.
Excellent value and location (few minutes from San Marco square) and comfortably sized for a family of four. Rooms were well appointed and had a variety of amenities. Greatly appreciated the comfortable robe and slippers at the end of a soggy day traveling about Venice. Our family would stay here again.
Lovely hotel, great location near to St Marks Square, within walking distance to all amenities, staff were lovely. Had an excellent dinner in the restaurant on our first night. When we return to Venice would definitely stay here again, we stayed in a junior suite with view.
