My husband and I have stayed at this hotel before so it was an obvious choice to return here. We stayed here for 2 nights before embarking on a cruise. The hotel is very easy to find just a stone throw away from pizale roma and not too far to drag our cases. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly...

Came in on a cruise ship, so the location, as said before, is perfect. Short walk, only one bridge! Beautiful hotel, with a great staff. Had a great room, not a canal view, but good size, and very quiet. The shower/bath is tricky. No shower curtain or barrier, so the floor gets pretty wet. One thing, don't use the little...

This hotel is perfect in many aspects. The location is so convenient, we took the ACTV bus from the airport, and within five minutes getting off the bus, we were in the hotel checking in. There are bridges in Venice everywhere, when you have your luggage, the least bridges to cross the better, I crossed only two set of bridges...

As everybody else has said, the location of this hotel is great if you are coming into town for a cruise. It is literally a stone's throw from the bus station (although over a couple of bridges!) The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The room we had was small but adequate for the one night we stayed. We had...

I made a great choice by selecting this hotel. I was close to Piazzale Roma and only a couple minutes walk. We choose this hotel because we were on a cruise this next day and wanted something close to the People Mover. The entire staff is very friendly, the room was the perfect size along with the bathroom. Breakfast the...

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in May 2014. While small, the room was clean and reasonably comfortable. We had a great breakfast each morning with many choices. The staff was helpful, especially in directing us to good restaurants and booking a gondola ride. The location of the hotel was perfect. We were in easy walking distance...

We have just returned from a Mediterranean cruise an extended our stay in Venice. We booked the Hotel Arlecchino many months before our stay not knowing what to expect. My husband and I were more than presently surprised by the excellent service we received. The management contacted us before arriving to reconfirm our reservation even though we booked through a...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
