We stayed here as it was close to the train station and we were heading to Rome after 2 nights. When we got of the bus from the airport you could see the hotel! The hotel was clean. Check in/out was easy. The bed was pretty uncomfortable.

I went back and forth on rating average or very good. Ultimately, I decided on very good due to the positives heavily outweighing the negatives. Reasonably priced. THE GOOD: Clean, nice staff, good breakfast for only a few Euros a day, free internet. Located right across water taxis, bus station and the people mover to the cruise ships. St. Marks...

We stayed at the Arlecchino Hotel for one night prior to a cruise, and for one night following a cruise. We took the Venezia Express shuttle bus from Marco Polo airport, and when it drops you off in Piazza Roma, you can see this hotel. It is a very short walk, and as other reviewers point out, you do have...

We stayed here for 2 nights, arriving in the evening. Hotel was nice. Location was ok. Would prefer to stay in the San Marco area next time where all the restaurants & shops were located. It was approx. 25-30 min to walk or 30 min on the ferry to San Marco. It was approx 10 min walk from the train...

Small elegant hotel, Venetian plaster ceilings, Murano glass light fixtures, marble bath, remodeled rooms, great breakfast only 3 euros in November (free cause we booked on their website). Room on canal; rooms are small--old building, but roomy enough. Beds are very firm, as most European hotel beds seem to be. Access from Piazza Roma over one bridge, to train station...

We had not realized that the taxi could not go directly to the hotel so had to find our way over the canals with suitcases to arrive. However they arranged a better service when we left. The hotel is beautiful. Marco the receptionist was extremely helpful. The breakfast is very good and we were able to leave our cases in...

Very convenient to cruise terminal and easy to reach from airport by non stop bus for 8 euro one way or 15 round trip. This a a charming hotel in a 16 century building by the side of a canal near Piazelle Roma. Very easy to get to San Marco by the vaporetto taxi close by for 15 euro round...

Hotel Arlecchino was a great spot. Location was excellent, very close to the bus stop, you could actually see it from one of the bridges. There was a little vendor 20 steps away to purchase vino, beer whatever you like. The rooms at the hotel were clean, the staff was very helpful. Check in is strange they ask for you...

Great little spot and within walking distance from main city parking garage. Pension was clean and friendly. Rooms are very small by US standards. Maybe 8x12. Walked the city with friends, felt as safe as in US. Closest restaurant Nextdoor refused us service when we said we only wanted a bottle of wine outside "this is a restaurant not a...

A lovely hotel in a fantastic location, and a great breakfast too! Corner room on an upper floor for the very best views and someone very special to share the experience of Venice, what more could you ask?

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
