We spent 5 nights here on the tail end of our honeymoon and we are so glad we ended with them. It was the most up to par hotel we stayed at the duration of our 2.5 week honeymoon in Italy. First they have American plugs so no more blowing up any more of my hair tools. The concierge and...

This is a great hotel on an island just opposite the main island on which most often Venice is situated. If you like the 1950's styling this will be perfect for you. The main fine dining restaurant is magnificent, was a real highlight. Personally for me this is a hotel best enjoyed in the summer, as even with a heated...

I have had the pleasure of staying at the Cipriani for a week every summer for almost 10 years. From the private jetty near the Piazza San Marco and swift private boat to the hotel, the welcome by the "doorman" at the private jetty on arrival, all is calm and seamless. This beautiful luxurious quiet oasis makes one of the...

Although outragously expensive, this is a hotel that must be satyed in once in ones life-time. It is even better under the Belmond owhership whose hotels I rate world-wide. The service is superb with exacting eye for detail. The rooms are amazing with excellent facilities. The pool is first class. The food is good but not great, I think they...

Noting really compares to Europe if you want an old school romantic break, but nothing could be more sophisticated and elegant than the Cipriani. Of course it is aware of its own status but the staff were all perfectly helpful and accommodating - it avoids that overt air of superiority that many hotels in this calibre can suffer from. No...

Despite the unfortunate cancellation of my Orient Express trip in June 2014, I decided to book a two night stay at the Cipriani before embarking on my Queen Elizabeth Mediterranean cruise. Staying in Giudecca

Neighbourhood Profile
Giudecca
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
If Venice is a theatre, Belmond Hotel Cipriani is the Royal Box. It is a resort: a way of life, an island apart, in every sense. And it involves all the senses that make a stay unforgettable. Five minutes by private launch from St. Mark’s Square, on the tip of the Giudecca Island, Belmond Hotel Cipriani is in the heart of the city but removed from its hustle and bustle. Its 95 rooms and suites are exquisitely decorated with magnificent views over the open lagoon, the gardens and St. Marks. A day here is made up of layers of wonderful experiences, from luxuriating beside the Olympic-size swimming pool (the only one in central Venice) to relaxing with a signature treatment at the Casanova Wellness Centre. The Casanova gardens offer an oasis of peace, perfect for a Thai Chi session before heading off with a private boat for a personalised excursion in the lagoon. Choose to dine at the new Oro Restaurant for a timeless dining experience or at the iconic Cip’s Club admiring the view on St. Mark’s. Sip a signature cocktail at the Gabbiano Bar or enjoy a light lunch at the Porticciolo Restaurant. A red-clay tennis court, a gym and dedicated Kids' Club with pool are also available. ... more   less
