The public water taxi system is awesome!! It was a first for my wife and I are but we didn't find any problem navigating our way to the hotel. The people at the ticket sale counters are very helpful when getting a water pass. I would recommend getting a water taxi pass for the duration of your stay, it's easy to hop on and hop off traveling anywhere through the grand Canal is a piece a cake… And a lot of fun. We came in with a rental car and traveled the water taxis to the hotel. As I recall it was about three stops from the car rental agency on the north east side of the island and just one stop after the train station. Walking from the water taxi line to the hotel less than three minutes... and going from the train station to the hotel you'll actually float on by the hotel. I was a little intimidated in the planning stages of our trip but found it pretty straightforward. I hope this helps
