Booked this hotel very last minute so had not looked into it much and had only seen a few photos. We were so impressed - it was stunning and the staff were all so friendly and went out of their way to help us. This hotel was perfect as it was quiet and out of the way so we could...

Excellent location half way between Piazzale Roma and the Railto bridge, so easy walk to most destinations. Next to a water transport stop. Hotel overlooks the Grand Canale. Our room was comfortable and quiet with good on suite. Excellent breakfast, really set us up for the day, says continental but has delicious scrambled eggs and bacon. Staff very pleasant and...

Pros: Location, Staff, Cleanliness, Cons: Wifi, Room size (if you happen to be above average size), This hotel was great.I was delighted with the location. It is close enough to the Rialto bridge without being in the heart of things. I liked the walk and getting to know the alley ways and bridges. When we wanted a less crowded experience...

Great location on the Grand Canal, quick access to Venice airport via water taxi. The room was very spacious. Serves a great breakfast with large selection. The front desk was very helpful suggesting dinning locations and arranging the water taxi to the airport.

We spent 4 nights at this hotel, and it was ideal in every way. First the location is ideal, we got a boat taxi from the airport, and the stop was a 2 minute walk from the hotel. It's situated right on the Grand Canal, 5 minutes from the Rialto fish market (which is definitely worth a visit). Our room...

We recently stayed here for 4 nights on our trip to Venice. This hotel is perfect, the room was lovely and the service was great. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a touch of luxury and class. The Wifi was a little temperamental at times but who needs the internet in the most romantic city in the world! ;)

The hotel is well located near the water taxi stop. The rooms are large and charming. Breakfast is the only meal offered and it was OK - the servers were great. There was a beautiful sitting room near my room with a beautiful chandelier - very relaxing place to read on a rainy afternoon. I would suggest that they add...

It actually pains me to give this hotel the rating I have given. The check in experience was great especially as we arrived so late in the evening and Luca was very helpful in showing us to our room, offering advice where to go and information about a free trip over to Murano. The breakfast was adequate and offered a...

First time we have visited Italy and wow, what a friendly country. The front staff were so welcoming and always ready to answer any silly tourist questions we had. They organised a free trip to Murano, recommended local family restaurants and served with a smile all stay, the hotel was clean and tastefully decorated, breakfast was perfect, a range of...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
