Staff was very kind. The hotel is nice and it looks like a Venetian palace with perfect accomodation. The location is great. Silent rooms. Good breakfast. We really loved the experience and we would totally repeat.

We chose this hotel based on the traditional Venetian look and booked a Junior Suite with Canal View. We weren't disappointed with our room and I felt the history in both the room and hotel. Room and bathroom were clean, breakfast was great - one of the best breakfasts for an included in the price one that we've had. Not...

Upon checking in, we were advised that the hotel was full so had to be upgraded for 2 nights out of the 3 originally booked. After being taken to the top floor, we discovered that the ceilings were extremely low & my other half kept banging his head. Another thing we noticed was that there were quite a few flies...

We got a water taxi and arrived at St Angello wand walked 5 minutes to the Hotel. We were allocated poor quality rooms ( booked 2 rooms) initially but reception staff were attentive and rectified the mistake by allocating 2 ground floor rooms around a central courtyard. A bad initial experience was soon transformed into a good one. One of...

The hotel staff is friendly and co-operative. Near two squares with fine restaurants. Five minutes from Grand Canal (stop San Angelo).l

This hotel was perfect for my fiancee and I. We stayed three nights and couldn't have been happier with our room, the staff, and the location. For around 200 euros per night it is a steal of a deal in regards to where it is located. The Location: The hotel is located off the southwest corner of Campo Saint Angelo....

This hotel is situated close enough to all the action in Venice (St Mark's Square, great eateries, shopping, gondolas etc) but tucked away avoiding noisy tourists & excessive foot traffic. The room was gorgeously decorated and clean, it was not worn or tired looking at all. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious - especially the fresh...

Had a hard time initially finding the hotel on our own from the train station, but once we located it, it was central and easy to return to. The suite was amazing with our own private rooftop terrace. The bed was quite comfortable and I absolutely loved the shower! Nice bath products as well. The breakfast buffet is outstanding with...

This is a world class hotel with magnificent decor. You really feel like you are staying in a palace. The staff is extremely helpful. My only complaint is how hard it is to get to and from. A trip to to the airport by private water taxi was 120 euros, plus porter fees of 20 euros. Breakfast is magnificent. Excellent...

Had a great time at this hotel. The room was clean, and the staff were very knowledgeable about the area and how to get around. The decor of the rooms, lobby and breakfast area was beautiful. The breakfast was wonderful and featured a good cup of coffee - sometimes hard to find in a hotel! The building is convenient to...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
