Not your run of the mill place ~ so much fun after standard hotels! Each room had its own unique flavor that it was fun to explore. Unfortunately our room was on the top floor (we are 50ish) and it has no elevators and steep steps. However, they cheerfully took our suitcases (and we had 4 heavy ones!!) and said...

Ok, this place is a little treasure. Beautiful inside and out. It's small but so well designed. We had the first room on the main floor. "November"was the room name. It was lovely. We had a very large room with sitting area and large bathroom and very large bed room. It was very nice to open windows and shutters leading...

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and was pleased. Location a little difficult to find, but in a great location close to the vaperreto and major sites. Hotel Design was not really my taste and the incense was a little strong in the room and pillows were insanely hard, but staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was...

hubby and I stayed at the AD Place in Venice for 3 nights - this hotel is a bit difficult to find (although we did get off at wrong water-bus stop which didn't help...), however, once we found it - we were more than happy. This hotel is a small boutique hotel with just 12 rooms. We were given the...

My husband and I are just back from a 4 day stay at AD Place. The hotel was very easy to find (using the map on AD Place web site). The hotel was very clean and tidy. All the hotel staff were VERY friendly and VERY helpful. The room (August) was situated on the 2nd floor literally in the breakfast...

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in early June. AD Place is a gem - a charming, boutique hotel located right in the heart of Venice yet located in a quiet backstreet that is tranquil, quiet and away from the hordes of tourists trampling through St Mark's Square. The rooms are not extremely spacious but a reasonable size...

The hotel is in a great location (but very difficult to find...), the hotel staff is nice, the breakfast is just outstanding and you can even ask a gluten free breakfast (if you ask a head of time), they don't have gluten free breads though but have few cookies and crackers. We had a really tiny bedroom though, I think...

We were celebrating a special anniversary and chose this hotel as the reviews were great. We were not disappointed! We booked direct with the hotel website as it was cheaper than all of the other sites. I did mention the reason we were coming to Venice and the owners took note as we were treated to an upgrade and champagne....

My wife and I spent two nights at this beautiful hotel in Venice! The staff was great and helpful. The decoration is really nice. We stayed in the agosto room. It is really small but has a nice bathroom. We would recommend this hotel anytime!

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
