Visited in June 2016 and stayed 3 nights. Room was comfortable and spacious and the breakfast was a nice continental one (no eggs but great selection of baked stuff) and great espresso. The location was absolutely perfect, tight near Rialto market so we walked everywhere, no need to use the vaporetto (water bus) other than when arriving and leaving because...

Alessandro was a wonderful host and the reason we go to B&Bs. He was attentive, friendly and informative. The room was lovely, large and the bed was very comfortable. We even had a large jacuzzi tub but felt guilty about the amount of water it used, being from California! Alessandro served an excellent breakfast and great cappuccino. The B&B is...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
