The hotel was great and its right in the center of Venice. You are able to work to all the main attractions. It is really good value for money and I enjoyed my stay there. I would recommend it for Venice anytime.

We arrived around 9:30/10pm and it seemed like the cheapest accommodation in Venice proper for three girls who are backpacking, and even then it was terribly over priced. When we booked online it said NOTHING about being cash only. And of course we didn't have enough between us and when we finally found an ATM and came back he had...

If u look for a budget stay in Venice, u can consider this hostel. I stayed in a dorm room (4- mix) and it was ok. There is no cabinet with lock in the room. The bed sheet and blanket didnt seem clean. The best part is its location. Walking distance to the Grand Canal bridge and you also can...

This place is disgusting. Smelly, over run with screaming kids. We had the attic room, no ceiling just the roof which is infested with bugs. I had 24 bites on my face, neck, hands arms and back. Absolutely horrid place. DO NOT STAY HERE. The front hall way is filthy dirty, the carpets and walls are filthy, very very noisy.

I chose to visit Venice for my free weekend on my study abroad trip in Austria. This hostel is on the other side of the city compared to the train station or city center. We got there and we had a room with four beds. The room was clean but some of our outlets did not work. We were promised...

This Hostel has completely inadequate bathroom and toilet facilities for the number of rooms. One bathroom was locked as toilet broken. One shower broken with shower head hung up with string. The security is inadequate, guests constantly leaving the front door open day and night. We had our money, passports, cameras and ID stolen during the night. There was no...

They called me 2 hours before my arrival to let me know that the booking hadn't taken place and that they had overbooking and there was no room left for me and my parents. I had booked the room 5 days before and apparently everything was ok. No matter what caused the inconvenience they could (and should) have called me...

The directions from the website were very clear, and I had no trouble finding my way to the hostel. The hostel is located in an alley with small shops and restaurants. In the day time, it's more suitable for shopping and walking around. It is not far from the rialto bridge so it is possible to cross over without taking...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
