Spent four nights at the hotel for my 30th birthday, and I must say I have never stayed in a more beautiful place! We had a suite overlooking the canal and the view was just spectacular. The staff were all so attentive and friendly. Highly, highly recommend!

We stayed two days at this wonderful place, I honestly believe that is one of the most beautiful hotel in Venezia. The hotel is perfectly located in a very nice area (2 min walk from the Guggenheim). The staff were absolutely charming and always of good advice when it comes to give some addresses for restaurants. Will definitely come back!

We stayed three nights in a junior suite overlooking the Grand Canal. The room was extremely comfortable and quiet. The hotel itself was ideally situated a short walk away from the central attractions. All the staff were very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast buffet overlooking the canal was enjoyable, however compared to other similar hotels the choice of bread was...

The hotel is tuck away from the busy area of Venice, which is perfect for me and my partner as we prefer to sleep in peace. The staff are very helpful and they have got a nice balcony bar by the river for you to enjoy your breakfast or happy hour with a good view. Rooms are clean and comfy.

We booked this hotel for four days participating in Festa di San Marco. The location is fantastic, the view from the fourth floor is outrageous. Never in our lives we have stayed so luxious. The suite is big , with golden walls in the bathroom, windows from floor to ceiling.Huge bed with that Canal view. This is Venice at it's...

We arranged the hotel through a BA holiday booking. Our package included a double room with breakfast for 4 nights. Room: we did not have a view but did have natural light coming in as the room overlooked a 'light-well'. While this may seem odd it nonetheless worked out very well as it was quiet and we were not bothered...

You certainly cannot complain about the location - it's stunning! No to mention, there's nothing better than sitting outside in the outdoor bar area watching all the activity on the grand canal whilst sipping on a fine glass of french champagne after a hard day of navigating the laneways of Venice. Loved it. The rooms we clean and tidy -...

Spent 5 days in this hotel. It's not cheap but neither is Venice! Excellent location, ideal for water bus trips. The hotel is very well kept, quirky in its style with a lovely court yard. Staff very friendly and helpful. If you're looking for traditional Venetian, this is not for you, but if your looking for a lovely hotel in...

We stayed at the Centurion palace 5 years ago exactly and thought it was completely wonderful, so we were disappointed that the place has gone downhill, although it's still a very nice hotel. Some of the pluses include the location right on the grand canal with spectacular views, the really extraordinary breakfast service in beautiful rooms with a terrific selection...

Great location. Great service. What they fail to mention is that train station pick up is 4x taxi cost. Plus I left some stuff and they couldn't figure out how to send it to me in Rome. Overall positive but they need to step it up considering how much they charge and the fact that it's supposed to be five...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
