This inn was such a pleasant place to stay. It's on a side street but very close to shops, restaurants and the aquabus. Arnulfo, the owner, makes the experience very comfortable. He has a sense of humour, introducing each of his daughters as "This is my pretty daughter". The family runs the B+B and he bends over backwards to help...

We stayed with Arnulfo and Valentina for four very comfortable nights. I could not recommend their accommodation more highly. Super comfortable, convenient, quiet at night and clean. Breakfast on their third floor sunny terrace is sweet. Our hosts made sure we had what we needed, offered great advice about local trattoria, places to visit and ways to get around this...

Our room was very clean and comfortable. Our hosts were friendly and very helpful in giving us insights regarding how to navigate Venice. We had a very nice breakfast on the roof top terrace. The inn was close and convenient to water bus, restaurants & shops. You need to be able to climb stairs (no elevator).

I was traveling on my own to Venice for a few days. Valentina, Arnulfo and their daughter were very hospitable and helped me to feel very comfortable in their B&B. It also was fairly quiet as it was away from the hustle and bustle but still just a nice walk to the places I wanted to see. The B&B was...

Arrived at Marco Polo airport, boarded the express bus, right outside airport, took about 20 minutes to city centre, decided not to take water taxi, but walk, only had a small bag! Follow the crowds, you are going the right way if you go over the glass bridge! It's straight ahead from there... Walked through lively street, shops still open and bars etc, felt really safe! Walk probably took...

We stayed here in May for 2 nights and it was perfect. This was a very quaint B&B. The rooms are very nice and extremely clean. The hosts were so welcoming and helpful as well. Every morning they had a wonderful breakfast waiting for us on the roof terrace. It is located right off of the main road. Lots of...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
