Amazing little hotel in the heart of Venice - fantastic value. Don't listen to the people that say it's hard to find, if you email the hotel they will send you an easy to follow map and even a video to help guide you there, we never had any problems locating the hotel. The hotel staff were absolutely brilliant, so...

We arrived quite late to the hotel, luckily they had sent us the link on you tube to see how to find it from the Rialto Bus stop, they had also emailed us a map. It was very simple and took about 5 mins. When we got there they said unfortunately all the classic rooms had been allocated, so they...

The room was very modern and spacious, with a nice bathroom too, tv, mini fridge etc. The cleaning wasgood as they came ineveryday, however whenarrived the blankets provided had peoples hair on which werent good. This hotel is a real find, very conveniently located (about 15 mins walk from San Marco) in a quiet and safe area of Venice and really nicely furnished. The staff are really helpful, speak perfect English and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast - which sometimes has the reputation not to be great - was very...

Loved this hotel. Our room was great as it had a terrace, which was a bonus we didn't expect. The staff were very helpful, spoke perfect English, and made sure our stay was enjoyable. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again as the location is perfect.

As others have mentioned, this place would be pretty difficult to find unless you already know where it is. The entrance is anything but inviting either. Once you're upstairs (note: no lift, ugh), it's very nice: the room is huge, comfortably furnished, and with a nice bathroom. One of the best we encountered in Europe, particularly for the price we...

We stayed here for three nights just after New Year. Don't be put off by difficulty in locating the hotel. Follow the map they will provide and its simple. It may not have much kerb appeal from the outside but inside are friendly and helpful staff. Fluent in English. Our room was well sized immaculately clean with high quality fittings....

My husband and I just left Ca' Bragadin for our two night stay in Venice. This hotel is hidden gem! For an EXTREMELY reasonable price we were off the beaten path and away from the throngs of tourists (this is relative, we realize, bc it is December...still, nice not to run into vendors selling tiny statues as soon as we...

First time in Venice, There on honeymoon, and stayed our last night in the hotel only last night, now in Rome. Hotel a little difficult to locate, after buying a map and making way to location it should be. Just asked a lady working from a stall and she pointed us straight to the entrance to hotel. Got a upgrade...

- Wifi is 3 Euro for 30 minutes (It doesn't have to be free but come on!) - Breakfast is 5 euro per person for a croissant, 2 pieces of bread, and some spreads. - The free maps they give you are awful and inaccurate, buy a map at a gift store or get a free one from the Change...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
