We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights whilst in Venice. We stayed in a standard double and were extremely surprised with how large our room was. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, giving us lots of tips for our stay. The hotel is 3 minutes walk from St Marks Square and close to lots of water transport...

We stayed here for four nights. The room was beautifully furnished and the bathroom was large and modern with a fantastic shower. The hotel is only about five minutes walk from St Mark's Square, but is in a quiet location on the side of a canal. The staff were friendly and helpful and very welcoming. The buffet breakfast was plentiful...

The hotel is 5 min walk to St Marks Square so extremely central and surrounded by some of the best restaurants and beautiful sights. There was an issue with the shower in our room so we were moved within 1 hour - excellent service! The first room we were in (007) was not great quality and it was on the...

I booked this hotel for a surprise weekend away with my girlfriend (soon to be fiancee little did she know!) Firstly the hotel is located in a fantastic area, with it being situated a short walk away from the heart of Venice and all the main tourist attractions. Like many hotels in any City, for me the most important factor...

The hotel was everything we wanted for our five night stay in Venice to celebrate or 60th birthdays. It was booked through voyage price and proved to be a very good value deal. The room was large with large ensuite, large comfy bed and room cleaned spotlessly everyday, also it had a canal view. Breakfast was included and they did...

We stayed here as a joint birthday celebration in early December for 5 nights. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the bedroom was luxurious with a massive bed and cloth lined walls. We had a.view of the canal . The bathroom was good with a bidet and a.very efficient massive shower. I cannot eat gluten and told them in advance so...

Room was nice enough, location was nice (5 mins from St Marks Square on a quiet canal with nice restaurants). The service from the staff at reception was exemplary. The breakfast was basic, but OK. In general I thought the hotel was very expensive for what it was...but maybe that's Venice!

We could not be more pleased with our stay at the Ai Due Principe! It's located on a canal within a 5-minute walk of the San Zaccaria vaporetto station and near St. Mark's square. Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
