Extremely beautiful b&b hotel, very clean, rooms full of good energy and great decoration! We had to check out very early in the morning so Elisa brought us a good breakfast the night before, in case we wanted to eat before we leave to catch our early morning flight. So nice lady, kind and shiny! She also took care of...

We had not one of the romantic rooms, it was tiny, tremendously loud, had two broken chairs and a misaligned toilet lid, the view was to loosely hanging power cables, and it was full of smoke in the air. The breakfast was bad in quality and not worth the money. When complainig about the room, as the picture did not...

Do yourself a favor and stay here! You won't be disappointed. The ladies run a small B&B- 5 rooms or so. They are very attentive, let us check in early. The rooms are smaller, what you expect in Italy:) they're tastefully decorated Venetian style. I found it charming and romantic. Breakfast is served, typical Italian style. The croissants served were...

Room was beautiful, nicely decorated with Venezian style, large, comfortable and very clean. Bathroom was comfortable and clean as well. The location of the hotel is excellent, 1min walk to Piazza San Marco and less than 5min walk to Rialto Bridge. This means that it is ideally located for exploring Venice both on foot or by means of public transport....

The Hotel does not have a representative onsite except for the woman who serves breakfast and cleans but she is only there 1-2 hours each morning. I had to pay for the room 2 days prior to departure because that was the only time that our schedule coincided with hers. (She takes the payment.) When we arrived we could not...

A little difficult to find, but once we got our bearings, we found better routes! Near to St Marco and also Realto bridge, this quaint b&b is full of charm and made our holiday complete! Great base for visiting everything and the best ice cream shop below your window! Breakfast was brought to your room on a tray every morning...

First I found this hotel very easy to find - I took the ferry from Venice station to Rialto bridge then a short walk. I didn't realise this is a 'bed and breakfast' without concierge. However I emailed the time I will arrive and was not waiting long outside. The room was very charming and cosy. After spent two days...

Great location, plenty of restaurants and shopping. Gondolas everywhere and are great to go on. Very close to Sam Marco Square, so you can access the b&b by either the Rialto or San Marco stops. Great breakfast served in your room, the best we have had in Italy. Good instructions on how to find laundromat, and they do have an...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

“We`ve been staying in two different rooms - each of them was very good. In order to get to Ca`della loggia I would suggest to hop off in St Marco vaporetto station. Walking with luggage from Rialto was more difficult for us, than from St Marco.”
