My wife and I stayed two nights in this charming, small hotel on a narrow canal just a block away from Teatro La Fenice. Our room faced the canal, and was impressively large, with a king-sized bed, a loveseat, a coffee table and three chairs. The bathroom was fully modern, with marble walls and floor. Breakfast is served as a...

A lovely central location, situated overlooking one of the many canals, this is a clean and friendly hotel, we were very lucky in being upgraded as it was my 50th, the breakfast buffet was enough to keep you going through the early part of the day and nothing was a problem from the waitress. we are thinking of retuning to...

My husband and I spent 3 nights at this hotel for our wedding anniversary, my husband had already emailed ahead to say it was a special occasion and was told that we could upgrade at a cost of 150 euros, we declined this offer but on arrival the man on reception took us personally to room 104 which was a...

We stayed here for 5 nights and found it to be centrally located. The hotel needs a renovation and looks tired. Our room which was spacious was on a definite lean and the bathroom while spacious as well got quite slippery when you had a shower as it seemed the water didn't drain away fast enough, this is a safety...

This hotel is very strange. There would be some aspect of the hotel that seems nice right next to something absolutely horrible. The rooms are disgusting. Our room was completely dirty and smelled of urine. There were brown smudges on the walls near the beds and noticeable grime and dirt on the surfaces and floors. The curtains and bedding was...

Dear Guest, thank you for your feed back. Unfortunately you didn’t like our little hotel at all. Although most of your affirmations are not true we respect them and we’ve also taken good note in order to improve our Hotel services. Best regards

Very well organized boutique hotel. Extremely fair value for stay that included buffet breakfast. Our rooms (103 &104) were large and clean. We stayed there Oct 2015. Charming location as our rooms were on the canal side, we saw and heard gondoliers singing to the passengers onboard! The sounds of their voices and instruments echo off the buildings was just...

A good Location to San Marco. Rooms are outdated but big.The toilets are extremely small but modern. A mixture of staff attitude, some are very friendly and nice some are cold and unhelpful. Due to being along the canal you can hear the boats going by.

I planned the trip to propose to my girlfriend. After deliberating for a long while with all the hotels on trip advisor I plumped for this one, and I was not disappointed !!! We have just returned from a long weekend at this Hotel. It is very well placed in Venice, central to designer shops, canals and St Marc's Square. When we arrived it was around 11am and our room wasn't cleaned as yet. They very kindly gave us coffee and snacks until it was. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Once...

Located 10 minutes walk from the "Grand Canal"and" Piazza San Marco", the hotel is easy to find. It's central location is handful as moving around with your suitcase can reveal itself very tricky and become a real pain as streets are always very busy. Rooms and bathroom are very neat and tidy. To my personal taste, I would have enjoyed...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
