Hi we are just back from Venice and this Hotel is in a good location. Rooms clean Staff friendly and helpful. The problem with the breakfast space has been solved by them bringing breakfast to your room they have made a little room available with tables and chairs for you to use as well. It was also very quiet although...

Positives were cleanliness, large and spacious rooms & location. Negatives are no breakfast included in the already expensive room rate, nor was wi-fi included (had to pay €3/hour). Also, very cold & unhelpful staff. No positive vibes coming from them. When asked to have a double bed instead of 2 singles, got a sarcastic reception...and a blunt no.

If you want to enjoy Venice, don't stay here. There is more space in the prison cells adjoining the Doge's Palace and the guards probably weren't as big a-holes as the staff!!!

The value for this hotel is wonderful. I booked on the internet and didn't really know what to expect, but it was really fun. We got room A1, and I recommend it to anybody if you can get it. It is on the top floor of the palazzo, and it is definitely not for the week-kneed or faint-hearted, you have...

This hotel made our stay in Venice very relaxing and carefree. The location was perfect and central to everything. You can walk out the door and see gondolas on the canal. We got a standard king room and it was very spacious. The bathroom was huge! The room was also very clean. There is a school right next to the...

On the plus side : the very central location (san Marco is less than 10 minutes walk) but just far enough from the crowd to be quiet; the typical charm of a classical Venetian hôtel; the friendliness and usefulness of the staff. On the down side : the breakfast & breakfast room (which can only accomodate 10!); the soundproofing from...

Whilst the room was beautiful the service was not. Having come from a 5star hotel in Florence that cost 50 euro less a night where they have excellent maid service where theynturn down ure bed, close the windows in the evening have a great reception and bar downstairs to come here was a real let down. There is a tiny...

The hotel was situated in a good location, very close to San Marco Square, with shops/resturants nearby. The room is clean but abit small, however we had this long corridor which we can put our luggages at, so it was generally very comfortable. The toilet is clean and good size of shower room, although the water pressure is quiet small....

I stayed here with my family earlier this month. The room easily accommodated four adults, the room was large and tidy. The bathroom was smaller and had only a shower in it. It was however clean and all that you would need. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly daily. The hotel is within easy walking distance of all the major sites...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
