Perfect hotel in a great location.
We stayed for a week in late March this year.
The rooms , staff and facilities were excellent. Breakfast was well stocked with anything we wanted and set us up for the rest of the day. Ski-boot room was well heated which is a novelty in most hotel ski lockers! The hotel is about 5 mins walk to the Creztaz ski lift. If there had been more snow you could potentially keep your skis on nearly to the hotel on the way home.
It was great coming back after skiing to a tidy , clean room.
Cervinia is a lovely village with plenty of shops and places to eat in a compact area.
We had a great week skiing and would happily do 2 weeks there.

This is a great little hotel in a superb location. We spent a week here in February as a family of 3, and really do not have anything bad to say about the place. It was clean, staff were very friendly, rooms were reasonably spacious with good storage, which is essential on a ski holiday. Breakfast was fairly basic but plenty of it and more than good enough us; toast, scrambled egg, bacon, salami, ham, cereal, croissants, rolls, fruit etc. The boot room was nice and warm with good storage. One of the best points of the hotel is the location; literally a few minutes walk to the lifts, and in the centre of all the shops and restaurants. For the price we paid I just could not fault the Hotel Compagnoni and would return.

I stayed for a week at the end of March with my family. The hotel is perfectly situated right in the centre of Cervina. It is a very short walk from the Cretaz chair lift and a slightly longer walk to the gondola station. The hotel has a boot/ski room in the basement which is also accessed from the street. The breakfasts are good, with a choice of tea/coffee, fruit juices, cereals, fruit, yoghurts, pastries, croissants etc along with hot options and ham & cheeses etc. we ate in the restaurant one night and it was excellent, the steak was perfectly cooked. There is also a lounge area and a small snack bar, K2, at the front of the hotel, which we tried to eat at one day but the service is terrible, which I don’t like saying this but we walked out in the end as after sitting for 10 minutes waiting to be served I eventually asked for the menu only to be shooed away. After sitting for another 5 minutes waiting we gave up, which is a real shame and in no way a reflection of the rest of the hotel. The two people that made our stay was Stefano and Lucia, who are a credit to the hotel. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. Best meal I think we had was in the Hotel Baita Cretaz an experience getting a skidoo ride up at night and Ymelatrob! Snacks through the day, The black Hole, Tasty Cervinia and the noodle bar, at the bottom on the slopes!

First off I love skiing and staying in Cervinia. It's one of the most underrated charming and beautiful ski resorts in Europe. The slopes are a pleasure and with an excellent lift system at the highest altitude you can ski all year round on the Glacier and to Zermatt (Switzerland) and back.

The main road is for foot traffic only and the hotel overlooks the street. I had a great time people watching from my room and stepping out to dinner or for a drink was a breeze. When there's a lot of snow down you can ski back to the hotel (a bit cheeky but I did) from the main lift. In the morning you carry your equipment for a 3 minute walk. There is ski storage lockers downstairs.

The room itself was small, quaint but don't expect any luxuries. I didn't spend much time in my room so that didn't bother me. The staff were really nice, but then I found all the locals to be lovely people. There's a charge to use the sauna / steam room / spa area and it needs to be booked in advance for an hour at a time.

Cervinia has excellent food establishments, every single meal was super tasty. The breakfast in the hotel was ok, nothing more. They do serve hot drinks and cake on the ground floor which is better.

The history of the hotel founder and owner, his sister runs it now is fascinating. First man to summit K2.

Personally I would probably stay in another hotel next time, but if you are not too fussed about a modern room then this is a sweet hotel with a location and atmosphere that makes it worth it.

Stayed for a week with Crystal.
Hotel spotless , great location but very little guest communication or engagement which is such a shame .
A super bar but empty -a good restaurant space but why the quietest restaurant in the village .. ? when it’s impossible to get a table at most places .
Ate one night most disappointing meal of the week .
Potential huge .. delivery acceptable / good
A bit more effort and it could be amazing .

What a lovely hotel. We have just returned from a family holiday in Cervinia and we stayed in the Compagnoni. There were 6 adults and 4 children in the party. We all loved the hotel. The staff were just fantastic. Very helpful. The rooms were all clean and airy, well appointed, and comfortable. The bar area was excellent. Very welcoming and very good prices. The location is spot on. Just a 5 min walk to the chair lifts. Slightly longer to the gondola. I would definitely go there again

Great location for the slopes, able to ski back to just across the road from the hotel but with limited runs to resort the slope does tend to get busy towards the end of the day and the snow a bit slushy.

Maybe not the best location for complete beginners as they will need to get the gondola up to the mid station and this is an uphill walk from the hotel.

The hotel itself is very pleasant. Decent sized rooms, clean, with new bathrooms, a well presented family run establishment. Rooms at front can be a little noisey at night due to central location but nothing too bad. Breakfast is quite simple but be aware eggs and croissants are available on request. Slight lack of storage facilities, just a large wardrobe with one shelf.

The hotel has a wellness centre available for an extra charge (€12 or €17 with jucuzzi) which is great for those tired limbs.

Would definately recommend this hotel and would stay again if ever I returned to this resort.

Skiing - good for beginners or intermediates, maybe not enough challenges for the advanced skier but with over 400km of piste when you include Zermat it is well worth a visit. Be careful where you stay as some hotels are quite some distance from resort centre.

Only one terrible meal - can't remember the name, French place on left of main street, terrible video menu board outside, owned by one of the ski instructors. We were initially put off by video menu board but the food was recommended to us so thought we would give it a try. We wish we had not bothered. The meat was terrible for three out of four dishes, possibly the worst meat I have ever eaten. Also service charge automatically applied. When we commented on the food we were simply told that the meat is usually very good. No apology or any further explanation. There are plenty of really good places ran by local italians, I would recommend going to one of these instead. Hotel Grivola and the restaurant below the Copa pan particularly good.

Plenty of places to eat on the slopes - the one at the top of the four man chair near the church is particularly good. Beware though that some of the toilets are a little basic - i.e. no running water, toilet roll, soap or hand drying facilities, basicly a hole in the ground!
Resort only 1hr 40 from Turin so well worth a visit if you do not like long transfers.

Just come back from our 4th stay at this great hotel.

On our 2nd day my husband hurt his back putting on a ski boot, we thought that he wouldn't be able ski for the rest of our holiday. But with the help of the owners and staff who recommended a masseuse we were back on the slopes the next day. A big thanks to you all especially to the wonderful Maria who got him back on his feet again.

We will be back next March
