Subject: Hotel Gonzaga Location: Milan, Lombardy, Italy, Europe Title: Horrendous ID#: 294762679 Have traveled extensively for more than 40 years. I have never experienced such an encounter as that at the Hotel Gonzaga, whose staff apparently was trained by someone from the Neanderthal School of Management. The AC was negligible, and the shower did not drain properly. A word of... More

The hotel was not easy to find . Rooms were large but basic. The staff member when we checked in was very helpful but the night staff/ porter mostly sat on a couch in reception playing very loud music from the computer and sleeping on the couch. Even at breakfast in the morning the music was so loud the children... More

When we first arrived by train we walked towards the hotel, now that is the only thing that was convenient. First we couldn't find the hotel as this is in a business building. Then when checking in the staff struggle to find our reservation, also they are the most unfriendly, unprofessional staff. Then we asked if the room had air... More

Didn't feel like a real hotel. It was on the third floor in what felt like an apartment building. The staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful. The room was clean however we asked for a double bed and got two singles pushed together. The lights in the room were very dim. If you have troubles sleeping make sure you have... More

The staff was not easy to deal with, nor helpful. We checked in and told them two names the booking was under because we were not sure whose name it was for sure under. This seemed to be too much work for him to figure out and decided he needed to see my email from Expedia. When I showed him... More

My daughter and I made an error in booking this hotel while visiting the Expo in Milan. The check in staff were unfriendly and almost hostile. Our first room had a blown bulb in the bathroom. We were then given another room, which on entering was occupied by a couple in bed. The third room was poor. The AC hardly... More

This hotel is within walking distance of the Central Station in Milan and so is very convenient for travelers looking to remain close to transport links although it is quite a walk away from the main tourist sites in Milan. As we were only here for one night, we did not explore the Metro/Tram links although they seemed to be... More

Staying in Stazione Centrale

Neighbourhood Profile
Stazione Centrale
Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.
