Detailed Reviews
Bernina is in a great location, just steps from the Metro entrance and 5 min to the central train station and shuttle buses to airports. Staff were friendly and helpful, and everything was clean and orderly. Breakfast was substantial and tasty, with a variety of food options from cereals, pastries, fruits, some cold meats, and even hot pancakes from a little machine. The decor was surprisingly stylish. Our rooms were clean and comfortable, though somewhat small by American standards.
Would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again.

The staff was welcoming and really nice and helpful! Loved it. The location is very good, very close to Centrale (Central Station), 1 min access to metro, lines take you quickly to the main landmarks. Twin room was small but convenient, no soundproof though)) was quite hard to sleep with no earplugs (make sure you take a pair with you just in case). Enjoyed the stay

We stayed here overnight on our way to Cinque Terre. It was about a 2 minute walk to the train station and super convenient. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was nice and clean! The complimentary breakfast was amazing!!! Coffee made to order, and a huge spread of every type of pastry, meats, cheeses, yogurt and more! There is a cute little area with a bunch of restaurants- we didn’t do much more exploring than that because it was dark when we arrived and we left the next morning. Definitely would recommend if you’re transiting by train! (The ride from the airport to arrive was about 10-15 min. We were going to get an Uber but negotiated a fixed price with a taxi/black car service to be the same as what an Uber would have cost!)

From the outset, the hotel’s proximity to the station and the interior arty decor seem appealing. The breakfast was ok and overall, staff there friendly enough. The rooms are another story.
I was given the single superior and despite asking for a higher floor/quiet room, mine was right on the street. I complained and was told the only two single superiors are on the ground floor but I can switch to the “quieter” courtyard facing one on night two. I would have taken any other room but they were apparently booked.
Needless to say I endured a very sleepless noisy night. My friend had booked a double room for herself which was dated, doorframe peeling etc and strangely no shower curtain in the bath/shower. She wasn’t overly thrilled but for her three nights, it seemed tolerable. Happily checking into my new room quickly in the late afternoon of my second day, I did notice a few ants by the fridge. I didn’t have time to handle it and assumed something sticky had been left behind/room not properly cleaned. Our dinner took longer than expected and on return, I was horrified to see multitudes of ants scurrying around from under the bed, by the bed, floor by bathroom etc. The man on front desk brought some cleaning materials but I explained I had asthma and can’t tolerate that. The only clean choice was to either pay for a room elsewhere as they were fully booked or inconvenience my friend by crashing in her room. I did the latter. Next morning, the manager refused to refund me the full second night! He cited that as I could stay in my friend’s room, without the usual extra person cost, he could only refund me around half the nightly fee. I was shocked. He said they had been unable to resell the ant infested room so late! I argued but to no avail. He tried to make it sound like I should be grateful. Return to Milan again? Not likely. Return here? Never.

Except the location I don't see any reason to choose this hotel, it is near the central train station from which you can quickly get to the airport, atractions or to other cities.
The breakfast was very basic, no reason to pay extra for such breakfast.
The elevator is extremely claustrophobic and slow. The room is also basic and you can literally hear every single sound from the other rooms, so I could hardly sleep.

Hotel Bernina
Via Napo Torriani 27 Milan/Italy
Official category 3*** Star. We give storng 3***Star. 1 night with discount (includes breakfast ) 65 euro. I think it's a little too much. A small cozy hotel in Milan. City center within walking distance. Close to Stazione Centrale(Central Station). There are many shops and cafés nearby. The room was very cozy and with a soft bed. Guests have access to a cozy lobby. Breakfast is not 5 stars, but not bad either. Unfortunately, the quality of the coffee is poor.
Price 7/10, Location 8,5/10, Room 8,5/10, Services 8 /10, Cleanliness 8,5/10, Breakfast 8/10, Coffee 6/10, Wifi 8/10, Bed 8/10.
Total Rating 7,8 / 10 Good.

I've stayed in 3 different hotels (3&4*) in Milano Centrale before Bernina, and this is the one I'm going to stick with. Friendly staff, homely feel, decent size room, clean, comfy bed, everything works is functional and in the "right" place (TV, plugs, bedlights, WiFi in room, etc). And you get a kettle too! Toiletries and tea/coffee sachet are minimal but as a 3 star it's more than good enough (most people carry their own anyway). Also windows have full roll down blinds, no light coming through that once they're down. And as my room was facing the courtyard it was very quiet too, anyway the road the hotel is on it's not a busy one anyway

Amazing location, very nice personnel. Very clean room, gratitude to the cleaning service! Wifi and air conditioning, kettle, coffee and tea, window blinds are there in the room. Towels, glasses and shower gels are changed/added every day.

We loved our stay at the Hotel Bernina, a very short walk from Milan's Central Train Station. We usually stay near train stations in Europe because of the easy connections with other cities and the concentration of local transit, restaurants, groceries and other services. The Bernina is half a block from two Metro lines, a tram line and several bus lines. Within a block there are half a dozen restaurants and a small grocery store a few doors south of the hotel (our room had a small refrigerator). Our room was clean and bright, with reading lights, comfortable twin beds (slightly wider than in many European hotels), a desk, two chairs, and a modern bathroom. The AC, internet service and daily housekeeping were excellent. Our room on the second floor allowed us to avoid the tiny elevator each morning, but it was easy to use when we needed it. On a street of tourist hotels, we're happy to recommend this one.

Extremely conveniently situated 2 or 3 minutes walk from Centrale station (and its metro station) this medium size hotel is one among many in this area. It is hugely expensive but so are hotels generally in Milan, especially this central, and it is not out of keeping with others like it. It is clean and well appointed, probably more 4 star than its official 3* grading. We had a front, ground floor room, so were worried it might be noisy, but this was not at all a problem. Our ‘superior’ room was a good size, but had some odd omissions - no drawers, no hooks or horizontal surfaces to put things on in the bathroom, no bin, no tissues. The room had a safe and a fridge, air-con, wi-fi, drink making facilities. Breakfast was very good, a wide choice, nicely presented,in a clean and bright area. There are many places to eat nearby, including of course Mercato Centrale at the station but also both classy and OK restaurants
