This isn't the greatest section of Milan (the same prostitute was waiting for us every time we turned the corner from the Central Station) ... but the reception was warm, the room was very nice and the price, for a major Italian city, was very affordable. Perhaps the most memorable feature of this hotel, however, was the breakfast -- remarkably...

All in all this hotel offers great value for a city trip. For those people seeking a more tranquile experience I would recommend the 5-starred category. Hotel Berna delivers 5-star service with their highly responsive front-desk/ customer service, free room upgrade, free wifi, free minibar and excellent breakfast. The room's are comfortable and well cleaned. The rooms are, as I...

I stayed at Hotel Berna whilst visiting the Milan furniture fayre - this is by far why the room rates were so high - nearly £400 a night for a very small twin room located right next to the lifts! The room was clean but very small and compact - sharing with a colleague was also made more difficult by...

Dear designmatt, Thanks a lot for sharing your experience with the community of Tripadvisor . We are so glad you consider us to be overall great. With regard to the room rate, it’s important and fair to say that in the period of your stay – as you mentioned - it took place in Milan the most important worldwide “International...

I looked at so many hotels in Milan and picked Hotel Berna based off the reviews on TripAdvisor. We flew into Milan and knew that after a long flight, we would want a comfortable place to stay that wasn't too far from the train station or the metro and Hotel Berna did not disappoint. The hotel and room was spotless...

Arrived by Taxi from Linate airport. There is a similarly named Hotel close by, so make sure you are in the correct place. Berna is in a lovely little area, close to the train station. A few nice places for food and drinks nearby. We ate at Mama Rosa's..it was my first meal in Italy, and it was fantastic. My...

we arrived to the hotel at midnight, from the trani station - right after a long flight and a bus ride. despite the fact that we booked our room online several weeks in advance, and received numerous confirmation emails - the hotel was overbooked! the receptionist was kind, but we had no room... so they transferred to another nearby hotel...

Dear Den079, we are sincerely surprised to read your comments, as we are absolutely not used to overbook our hotel. As a former airhostess I spent many many nights in hotels, but the Berna hotel is something special. The rooms are comfortable. The staff helped us very quick and efficiently with a little discomfort (smell in the bathroom) and made it up with a lovely little surprise when we returned to our room (we won't tell...). The hotel is ideally...

My wife and I enjoyed two nights at the Hotel Berna in January 2012. We found the hotel to be well located with just a short walk to a nearby metro station, giving easy access to all the sites of Milan. This well-appointed hotel delivers to both tourists and business people, of whom we saw many at breakfast. Our room...

Staying in Stazione Centrale

Neighbourhood Profile
Stazione Centrale
Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.
