A group of us attending a conference stayed at the hotel. We loved the special attention and kindness of the staff. They could not have been more accommodating, arranging an early breakfast for us, friendly always, attending to our special requests. The lobby was large and a great place for us to all meet. The rooms were lovely -- not...

Stayed here with a small group of friends for a long weekend. The hotel is old, full of character and charming. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. They looked up train times, printed out schedules etc and made helpful suggestions. The rooms were small but very clean. The seating area to the front was a very welcome shady spot...

We travelled to Milan earlier this year and chose to stay at the Hotel Carrobio via the Wotif Mystery Deal. This hotel is the equivalent of the Seafood Surprise at your local Chinese buffet. Mysterious, and always disappointing. We were expecting to be staying at a nice 4 star boutique hotel, but we found it to be run down and...

The hotel is nice and is well located (not so close to the Dome as they published tough). It gives the feeling that it was a high class hotel when it opened. The staff was helpfull and gave great directions of what to see in Milan. The only complain that I have is that I ordered a room with a...

The rooms are out dated and in rough shape. It's extremely noisy as there is a large hostel right outside the front and you have people yell and making noise until the wee hour. Of they try to put you in the front across from this firmly decline. However the noise travels all through the lanes so even the inside...

I am giving 3 stars because of location and because of Fabrizio that was super nice, but everything else was bad. As many people mention the staff with exception of Fabrizio wasn't friendly :-( we both a bottle of wine on our previous stop in Montepulciano and we decided to drink so we ask for some wine glasses and they...

Myself and a colleague have been staying at the Hotel Carrobbio during a work trip in Milan. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful and the position is very central, in the old City Center. When you walk into the hotel, you get automatically transported into another era, the one of love movies in black and white.. They have a...

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night but unfortunately my room was located on the first floor. Outside, opposite the hotel, there was a busy local bar. The hotel windows soundproofing being very poor, I only managed to sleep after the bar closing time (1.00am). And from 6.00am the noise from the street didn't help me get a proper...

This hotel represents the true experience of an Italian stay . The hotel is small but clean . It's nestled away about 10 minutes walk from the Duomo but located close to restaurants and shops . The downside is that there is a short walk needed to access the trains and this can be inconvenient with your luggage . We...

The room was old, smelled old as well, the inner structure of the hotel is like a maze, not easy to find the room. The heat system in the room is a sort of airheating which makes a terrible noise. The gentelman we encountered a the reception was very weird, not as friendly as it should have been. They say...

Staying in Navigli

Neighbourhood Profile
Navigli
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
