Positive points: Good relation prize-quality. Points to improve: No free wifi. No shampoo at the bathroom. Old-fashioned decoration but I can survive. Difficult to find a typical place to have breakfast next to the hotel.

Having decided that we has to get out of the Hotel Bolzano, we found this hotel fairly quickly. We were only in Milan for the one night and this was clean, bright and fairly well appointed. I was a bit disappointed with the size of the breakfast on offer and my lack of Italian somewhat limited conversation with the lady...

Not any more. The old decor is fading away, though a bit of charm remains. I'm not really sure about the reason but the staff keep quarreling with each other at all times. On the plus side. the central train station is just steps away.

The room would not have been comfortable for more than one person, or even one large person. Very cramped. The wifi costs around five euro for three hours and after paying, I was never able to get it to work. The man at the front desk was grouchy, but did eventually give me my money back. The breakfast was expensive...

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights as part of a wider holiday. Room was dated but certainly sufficient for its purposes which was for me, just a place to sleep whilst I explored the city. I was disappointed to find however that they will not post an item to me which I left in the room. A dress...

The room is average and ok, the bathroom is well renovated. The hotel is quite old, but well consevated. The good thing, the location, definately. The bad things, the breakfast is poor, you only have on internet connection per room and device, so if you are two in the room with at least two devices you need to organize turns...

I spent 3 days in the Augustus as the ideal basis to get to Expo during the day, and visit Milan by night in Brera and Corso Como Area. A step from the subway, then 30 minutes to get to Expo for a one day tour. Come back to hotel, shower and rest, then lovely dinner in Brera in 15...

We stayed in this hotel for just two nights. This hotel is located so close to the Central Station that taxis will not take you there. The building looks very old, similarly the reception staff too. We were given a room stated by the reception as a big room but in reality the room is small and irregularly shaped. WIFI...

I stayed here in June 2013 and found it to be well located just a short walk from Stazione Centrale. We had limited time in Milan itself as we had daytrips to Lago di Como planned, and just wanted a nice clean hotel that wasn't too expensive. In terms of price the hotel was good value, and the rooms were...

Staying in Stazione Centrale

Neighbourhood Profile
Stazione Centrale
Central Station represents a bridge towards the future. Impressive skyscrapers and new age buildings stretch the skyline with the majestic Unicredit Tower cutting through. Surrounding it are large towers that define Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the fountain and the Monumento Trombe leave one breathless. A famous building of the district is the Vertical Forest, where the innovative materials and trees planted on the terraces are a unique mix of nature and man-made construction. In the district, there is the Monumental Cemetery, known for its antique tombs with sculptures portraying angels of commemorative scenes many will find touching.

“Ask for a room on the second floor at the back of the hotel as there is a lot of long term building works happening on the main street to the front. Also check out the café/restaurant next door, its called Quick Bites and is great.”
