I have a deep fondness for the hotel but aside from the public areas and the fantastic staff, the rooms are a disappointing time warp to 30 years ago. Everything is exceptionally clean, but the rooms are not luxurious, stylish, or modern. Furniture is ragged. I will come back when the renovation is completed. Can't wait to see it!

Hotel's Favourite
We have just returned from a wonderful stay in Milan, we stayed at the Hilton and the staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We arrived very late on the Friday evening but we were still met with a smile and a very fast check in, especially when we just wanted to get to the room and rest after travelling. The breakfast came as part of our exec upgrade that we arranged on Standby and were delighted we got this as it was a special trip for us, the breakfast was great and again the staff were just brilliant. I can't fault any of them. The room was lovely, we were met with a fruit salad, cheesecake and bottle of water and this was really nice and tasted good too! The bed was most comfortable thing I have ever slept on, I wanted to take it home :) We did have an issue with electric in the room, none of the plugs were working but this was solved within 20 mins of reporting it which was great. The only let down of the stay was we had very noisy neighbours and this ruined it a little, I mention we arrived late on the Friday, it got to just after 1am and I had to go to reception as we just could not sleep, the room next door sounded like 3 or 4 children having a party. The reception phoned the room instantly whilst I was there and asked they reduce the noise, whilst it didnt make much difference - we had some ear plugs and managed to get through the few days with them. It is a shame as it did leave a slight sour taste that some guests can be so disrespectful especially with children and being awake at 1am and speaking so loud/screaming / watching TV on full etc This is in no way fault of hotel though hence the 5 stars and we would definitely return, the staff did what they could and we would definitely return as its in such a great place, 5 mins to main station and 20 min walk to the cathedral etc Thanks again to all the staff for helping us with our 20th wedding anniversary celebration and making it so special

Decent business hotel. Rooms were reasonable size and location quite convenient. The bar is quite nice. Breakfast has a good variety with various options. Would come back to the hotel next time I’m in Milan. Can recommend for business travel.

This Hilton hotel needs a refurbishment update, which is why I rated it below average. As a diamond member, I was upgraded to a deluxe room. Of course, I can only speak to the room that I am in ,but “shabby” explains it well. For refreshments there is a hot kettle for instant coffee and tea. There is the usual refrigerator and safe. The bathrooms have Crabtree, and Evelyn products, but the fixed placement of the sink hand soap is awkward as it is on the wall 90° to the right from where you’re standing facing the sink. This leads to drippage when you’re moving your hands from this far away position to the sink. In addition the shower/tub area is still equipped with cloth shower curtains, which these days are very unhygienic. There are no electrical outlet or USB ports bedside. There are plugs at the desk across the room. The TV is not a smart TV that you can access with casting your own device entertainment to the screen. There is ample space in this room. If your neighbors are loud you can hear them easily in the next room. The room is very dim. There are two lamps bedside for reading. The bed is comfortable with the standard Hilton duvet and pillows. The bathrobes and slippers provided are of good quality. The furniture is outdated and super worn. I was very surprised to see that the desk chair is allowed to be in the condition it is ,with peeling off of the synthetic material. See picture. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is one of the best I have experienced at a Hilton property. There are eggs and omelets made to order, many selections for hot foods, fruits, dairy products, and fresh delicious bread products. The hand pulled coffee is delicious and there is fresh orange juice. There are multiple hand sanitizers throughout the lobby and dining area, which is truly appreciated as there are many Hilton properties that you cannot find any hand sanitizer, even near the buffets. The executive lounge is an area that is part of the breakfast location. Between 6 and 8 PM there are a few wine choices, beer choices, tonic water, and soda choices, along with four or five spirits. There are also a few warm appetizers, cheese, fruit available. The hotel location is a 3 to 4 minute walk from the main train station. This short walk, I was told by multiple Hotel staff when I queried about being a single female walking from the train station to the hotel, stated that I should not be doing this late at night as it was not safe. I was advised if I was coming back at a late hour, that I should take a taxi. Taxis are approximately €13-€15 returning to the hotel from the Duomo area. During the daytime, use of the train station is excellent with ability to use your smart phone and credit card to tap going through the stiles to enter the train station/metro and re-tapping upon exiting at your desired metro stop. .The metro is clean, fast and efficient in my experience so far. Prior to making this reservation , I had called and asked about the location in regards to being a single female traveler, and was told that it was no problem. Unfortunately, since I arrived, I have been told differently by female and male Hotel staff. I believe that it would be perfectly OK if you had a traveling companion or are walking with a group at night. At 6:30 on a Saturday night, there was the presence of police with military style vehicles immediately in front of the train station, but of course they’re not in the area between the hotel and the train station. The other areas surrounding the hotel appear to be on par with other metropolitan cities where you would take the necessary safety precautions. There is an Aldi right next-door where you can purchase the usual types of groceries and drinks if wanted. Also an Europcar office attached. All in all, if the price is agreeable, and you have a traveling companion, and don’t mind a dated and worn room, this hotel has a lovely breakfast and helpful staff.

Staying one night at the Hilton Milan. The hotel is well-maintained for its 50 years, but it has not been updated to current standards. The electrical sockets in the wall are outdated and there are not enough of them. The bathroom still has a bathtub with a shower, which is not up to modern standards. The hotel could benefit from renovations to bring it up to date. I was disappointed with the service I received from Giorgia at Hilton. I requested that my name and my company name be written in a specific way on the invoice, but she was unhelpful. This does not meet the standards of service I expect from Hilton.

Just one night here for a stopover en route to Rome for the rugby. Good location for the railway station (5 min walk) and Linate Airport (20 min taxi). A bit out of the way of the main tourist attractions but easily accessible walk, tram, metro, taxi. Given a room upgrade and access to exec lounge. Room large albeit a little outdated. Bathroom disproportionately small but adequate. Breakfast excellent (love the fresh orange juice machine) with tons of choice and good quality. Bar area relatively small but good service. A very functional hotel but wouldn't hesitate to stop again

This hotel is very well located in Milan, directly next to a Aldi grocery store and just a few minutes walk from Central station and tons of restaurants. The lobby is large and welcoming with a fair amount of seating area. The rooms themselves are pretty basic and small, but acceptable in terms of comfort and cleanliness. I wish that the hotel did not take guests ability to fully control their cooling overnight, which is one of my biggest pet peeves when traveling to many hotels in Europe. The hotel staff are extremely nice and well trained in customer service and definitely are willing to go out of their way to make their customers feel values and welcomed. Other than that, the hotel is perfectly acceptable and satisfactory.

The room I was in was extremely old fashioned, but clean and comfortable. The main entrance/lobby area is very nice and the staff was excellent. I had a small balcony which was a nice surprise! They were also kind enough to slip a note under all of the guests’ doors to inform us of a fire alarm test, which I appreciated!

Hilton Milan A Perfect Hub To Reach The City's Tourist Sights Quickly With A Cheerful Staff Always Ready To Help By Doug Krikorian As a European vacation destination, Milan never had been at the forefront of my desires during my many visits to Italy across the decades preferring the country's glamorous triad of Rome, Florence and Venice. Oh, I knew it was one of the predominant fashion centers in the world and the site of The Last Supper, the famous mural painting by Leonardo da Vinci and that it had the second largest cathedral extant in the massive Duomo with its 3,400 statues on its facade. And I did make a couple of brief stops in the city over the years---and took in a few of its most famous tourist attractions that certainly were impressive but for some reason the city failed to stir my emotions. But, oh, have my feelings about Milan changed dramatically from having spent a week in it early this past December at the Hilton Milan near the city's iconic Centrale Train Station where the local Metro subway is also located to take you to almost all the important places around the city. The hotel itself turned out to be the perfect hub, since from there it's a mere 8 minute walk to the sprawling railway center and a mere four-stop, 15-minute Metro ride to the frenetically busy downtown center featuring the Duomo and the stunningly beautiful Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with its massive Dome towering above all its upscale restaurants and apparel stores and other commercial outlets. Almost from the time I checked into the Hilton, I had a positive vibe about my upcoming stay in Milan because we were greeted immediately by the smiling friendliness of the bell captain and front desk receptionists. I say almost because that all changed instantly when my wife and I entered our fifth floor room, and found it disappointingly small for a couple that planned to spend a week in it and was led to believe by the gentleman signing us in that we were being given quite an abode. Well, not quite, especially for a long-time Hilton gold-card member long spoiled by upgrades. So, I promptly returned to the front desk, and, blessedly, came across an understanding lady named Moira Cattaneo, who quietly listened to my complaints about my claustrophobic room. After I finished my rant, she smiled and said, ``No problem. We just happen to have a room on the same floor available I'm sure that you will like much better.'' And, oh did we! It was twice as big with a nice sofa, and that was the start of a memorably entertaining stay in Milan where we wound up visiting countless exotic old churches, many old art museums, the great opera house,Teatro alla Scala, the sprawling Castello Sforzesco, the stunning 116-acre Parco Sempione, the architecturally breathtaking Porta Nuova business district, etc., etc., etc. Never realized that Milan had so much to offer, and I'll put its food against any I've eaten throughout Italy, especially its incomparable risotto, which, in the stirring parlance of culinary connoisseurs everywhere, ``is to die for.'' It turned out that Moira Cattaneo was the front office manager, and, obviously, was determined with a sweet smile to make her Hilton customers satisfied. I have no complaints about the Milan Hilton. The bedding was clean and fresh. The service and food at the buffet breakfast were superb---a lot of goodies to choose from---and the cheerful cook made perfect customized omelets. I got a kick out of the automatic orange juice machine in which the oranges are actually dropped from a tube attached to a box of oranges and are squeezed in front of you in what actually was a thrill to watch. The fitness gym has all the proper cardiovascular and aerobic equipment, and there is ample room. The Hilton Milan, natch, has a terrific Italian restaurant on its premises called CololiAMO, and of course there are many other exceptional Italian eateries in the area with IL Tavolino at the top of my list. Another Hilton Milan employee who deserves praiseworthy mention is Gianna Sardone, a guest relations manager who looks like a younger version of Italian actress Maddalena Corvaglia and who was a fountain of information for my wife and me of where to go and what to see and what to do in what turned out to be a wonderfully eventful seven days in a city I now savor passionately and one day will revisit at the same hotel.

My wife and I were completing our wedding anniversary trip to Switzerland and Italy this past August by spending our last night in Milan before flying home. We specifically stopped in Milan to see Da Vinci’s Last Supper. We arrived at Milan’s Central train station and wanted a convenient location for transport to the airport the next morning. I found the Hilton, which was only a two block walk from the station. The staff were very welcoming. Our room was good sized, the bed was comfortable and wi-fi was good. We left early the next morning so we did not try their breakfast. It was a good stay for our purposes.
