We have just spent a fabulous celebratory stay in this fantastic, family run hotel. Its perfect location in the heart of Bellagio village, authentic Italian structure/building, awesome, attentive, professional service from all staff, impeccably clean, quiet room with comfortable beds, delicious, varied breakfast with out of this world croissants, fixed to order cappuccinos, espresso, the punctual taxi with friendly driver bringing our suitcases down 38 steps booked for us by the concierge Alejandro, letting us to be checked in earlier upon arrival and other things truly make this hotel so unique, welcoming, accommodating, and outstanding. And what was the most important during our visit, in our room we found a handwritten birthday greeting for my mom's 70th birthday and a bottle of champagne from the Leoni family.... It was such an unexpected, thoughtful and caring surprise for my mom, us celebrating her bday in Bellagio, remembering it forever. Thank you so very much for making our visit at your beautiful hotel so wonderful, memorable and delightful! We highly recommend this Bellagio gem hotel to all other travelers & Como guests!😊

It is a very well located hotel in the heart of Bellagio, you have many places nearby to have a drink or lunch/dinner. The town is beautiful, you have to take a walk both day and night, Lake Como is huge and very beautiful. The hotel service is very good, it includes breakfast with several varied foods for every taste, the rooms are comfortable and the customer service is very good. It includes a parking space 300 m away so if you go with a car it is an extra plus. The parking space must be requested in advance by email if you reserve and it costs €25 per night.

First the hotel was an enormously responsive prior to our visit, and I had more than my unfair if questions. After the healthy walk-up they warn you about to the entrance things get better and better inside. Very friendly, helpful, and informative staff. First room for two nights had a partial lake view and was a nice size, and cozy balcony. But the room we had booked for the 3rd night was a winner with a tremendous lake view, no balcony sadly but a very cool electronic picture window which could be controlled from the bed. In retrospect we would have kept the balcony over the better view as the window had no screen and bugs kept flying in so we had to keep it shut. Breakfast room was very nice, servers very helpful, and a cool egg boiler (never saw that before). Location is the key to this property with a tremendous central spot to the ferry, restaurants, sights, and shopping, We HIGHLY recommend staying here and would stay here again and again.

Extremely disappointing. Parking advertised indoor and outdoor and 650m away and at €25 per night. Access via pebble stairs and no one to help you carry your suitcases. The room booked with a lake view is a huge scam... the view is over the rooftops with a tiny bit of the lake... It's a huge scam. And what's more, we were woken up at 8 a.m. by the cleaning ladies who were unceremoniously pulling out the furniture and talking loudly to each other... Honestly, move on and book elsewhere

From Check in onwards our stay at this hotel was a joy. From Francesca and others on Reception, to cleaning staff, the staff at breakfast and bar staff on the 5th Floor terrace of Hotel Du Lac, all were so friendly and very efficient. They all enhanced our holiday. The hotel is immaculately clean. The Breakfast buffet provided plenty of variety and was of very good quality. Cocktails on the 5th floor terrace of sister Hotel Du Lac is highly recommended, a great way to start the evening with fabulous views over the lake. Wise to book at Reception though to reserve your spot. With regard to room selection, for best views of the lake suggest booking floors 3 or 4. Our room was Room 404, which is a corner room so you get a beautiful double aspect and we would highly recommend asking if it’s available. Hotel Bellagio also has a small 5th floor sun deck with chairs and sunbeds. Hotel location couldn’t be better. The lake ferries and water taxis leave close to the hotel so easy to visit other villages and towns across the lake. Also plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Reception gave us several good quality restaurant recommendations for dinner. Despite the central location it was quiet at night and we had no problems sleeping. We would highly recommend this exceptional hotel.

If you arrive by car, it is essential to invest € 25 per day in the parking. It is almost impossible to park on the street in Bellagio. The hotel is very well located in the commercial heart of the city. And if staff is very friendly. In my review you should have no surprises with this hotel.

Hotel Bellagio is a delightful gem on the shores of beautiful Lake Como. The hotel is immaculately maintained and the staff are particularly gracious and helpful. We appreciated the help with restaurant recommendations and reservations.
Definitely advise taking the train from Bergamo or Milan; renting a car and driving/parking detracted from our visit.

Very high quality of the room (very clean, spacious, with an incredible view), really welcoming and smiling staff, very good breakfast. Services well beyond the two stars displayed which justify the price (in a city where prices are higher anyway). The additional reservable parking is essential and absolutely comfortable, it is very difficult to park in Bellagio…

This hotel was lovely and quaint. You do have to walk up 38 very rocky steps to reach the hotel. In my opinion that's nice because it puts you right in the middle of the 2 main shopping streets. So you go up or down to shop /eat. They will get you help with luggage if you need it. The location is perfect as far as accessing the ferry. The ticket booth is right in front and to the right slightly. You can't buy tix ahead of time & you can't buy return tix. The booth opens at 8 am & I recommend buying return tix as soon as you arrive in Como if you are going there for the day due to the lines. The front desk staff was amazing especially the young woman with dark curly mid length hair. She was always willing to help & answer questions. They booked dinner reservations & transportation for us. Room 302 has 2 balconies and amazing views! Don't miss the rooftop terrace for a little decompression with a glass of wine. The breakfast attendants were all smiles every day and the breakfast assortments was gracious! The icing on the cake was being able to sit on the terrace and have breakfast under the beautiful trellis with a peek of Lake Como in the background. Would I stay here again. Absolutely!

Great location close to ferry. They give you information if driving - the car park at €25 per night was the most expensive of our Italy trip. The superior double lakeview room was pleasant enough although we did not get the top floor room we had hoped for. The room lacked enough tables or surfaces for your personal items. The shower cubicle was quite small but aside from that the bathroom was good. We had a small balcony but the table and chairs kept blowing over and then we could not open the door. Breakfast was fine.the best thing was the freshly made coffees. The staff at breakfast were all very pleasant. The person checking us in and then out were both lovely. But on the other 2 days the reception staff were quite unfriendly

Hi,
We used public transport to Bellagio in June. It is not easy !
Trains to Milan, then onto Como/Varrenna etc, are cheap and frequent, but you really need to decide where you want to get off. We opted Milan-Como as this was the most direct route for us. Arriving at St Giovanni Railway station, (you are still at least 90 mins from Bellagio), the alternatives are:
1) Taxi. There is no taxi rank at the station, just a courtesy phone. A taxi will cost 80-100 euros and takes about 75-90mins.
2) Bus. The stop is at the station, and buses run every hour or so, and the fare is 6 euros and the journey is 90 mins. The buses run on time, but serve all the little villages en route, so you have about 30 stops ! They are fairly basic, with no space for luggage, so we had to squeeze luggage between our seats with our knees on our chests. Would NOT recommend.
3) Best option is taxi to Como ferry, (or 10-15 min walk- mostly down hill and via pleasant town, but cobble paths can be tricky with luggage). Ferries run every hour or so. (ferry takes just under 2 hours, hydrofoil 1 hour). this is about 14 euros, with a premium of about 6 euros for hydrofoil.
The journey from Como to Bellagio is the highlight of the holiday, and a great way to relax after the stress of long-haul, especially if you get a boat with a bar.
We managed to download ferry and bus timetables and fares from the web, which proved very useful. We also purchased 6 day ferry tickets for freedom.
To be honest, most of the little villages dotted around the lake that we visited were all very pretty, but all very much the same, so the purpose of the ticket is really to jump on/off and see the vistas in varying shades at different times of day.
Good Luck !
There are more places to choose from in the Bellagio area.
