A few weeks ago we stayed at this hotel with our five children. They were very accommodating and had rooms that could fit as few as one person or as many as 7-8. The price was very good, the rooms were very clean and it was so close to the port that we were able to easily get to Ometepe....

This hotel is located in San Jorge, the place where you can catch the boat to Ometepe, because the weather was bad and the ferry didn't leave, we had to stay for a night in San Jorge. For 30usd we had a twin bed room with A/C. However, the shower was cold. Breakfast is traditional Nicaraguan food, rice with beans...

A group of 14 of us spent a few nights at Hotel California. We were living on Ometepe, but were on the mainland helping with a construction project in Rivas. I have no complaints - the Wi-Fi wasn't great, but it worked. The rooms had air conditioning, and it was the first air condition we had had for awhile, so...

Rooms clean and food (breakfast) ok. Owner - Frank by name and frank by nature, but honest; friendly and informative. Safe and secure site with security guard. Very near to Ferry to Omatepe and lake front. If you are a light sleeper be aware the Geckos run around the ceiling and roof void at night,

Communicated with the owner over email and he seemed really nice, though I never met him. He was very accommodating with the airport pickup. The room wasn't bad and it was okay for one night. The shower was pretty dirty, but it had AC. Bugs everywhere! The town itself felt unsafe, do not go walking around at night. We learn...

Just because I'm in a third world country I don't expect filth but that's what I got. I could have done without the racist comments from the owner Frank, who thought he was just hilarious. I overheard some choice sexist remarks as well, I'm not sure this guy gets that he isn't living in the US anymore. 15 years as...

It was a busy weekend, and decided to stay in San Jorge as a stop over to Ometepe Island. We wanted to stay somewhere cheapish near the port. Its only a 5-7 min walk to the port. The rooms are spacious, with a double bed and chest of drawers. There was a tv which didnt work properly. There was air...

I have stayed several times in Hotel California and find it quiet and peaceful. I enjoy the fact that I can walk the 5 acres of grounds when ever I need a bit of leg stretching. Just 300 meters from Lake Nicaragua and a dozen beach side restaurants and bars, there is no lack of entertainment. A good spot to...

We arrived late into Managua. Frank, the owner, came to pick us up for a fee. He was really nice to talk with for the 1.5 hour trip. The next morning, Judy made us a complimentary breakfast. Vey tasty! The grounds are beautiful and Frank's dog, Otis, made us feel at home, as well. His staff gave us a ride...

“Place is (according to owner) usually pretty quiet, so you will have a choice of rooms.”

“The two rooms in the main building are bigger and cost a bit more. Sometimes you can hear the music from the beach side bars. The main building is quieter but has slightly smaller rooms and is a bit cheaper.”
