Location is good- 20 min walk to the ferries, 25 min walk to the train station- it is a bit off the central tourist path- I would stay away from the area near the round cathedral after dusk- seemed a bit shady- loved the hares grazing on the lawn though :-) 10/15 min walk to the pedestrian zone which is... These are the friendliest staff ever! The concierge Roberto is exceptionally helpful! Not just with me but with everyone I see him dealing with! He goes over and above what is necessary and is certainly very nice! Also the breakfast staff are very smiling an friendly!

Staff was helpful, breakfast was good, room was air conditioned, wish there was a fridge in the room, location was okay- we stayed there to get to cinque terre which was a little out of the way. There was not 24 hour service at the front desk which could also have been helpful. Rooms were clean and modern, wifi was... More

Il Gabbiano saved us. We booked an apartment through Home Away/VRBO & got jerked around by the owner and ripped off (the city tax we paid in cash) so had to drive around La Spezia looking for two rooms. Stumbled upon this place. Does not look good from the outside or lobby but the staff is incredible. Super friendly and... More

Free parking if you can get a spot. Room basic but good. Helpful staff, showing us the route to the train station, since we wanted to go to Cinque Terre. They a special day tickets for Cinque Terre. It includes train, entrance and free toilets.

Good location: 10 minutes on foot from main train station, near 2 grocery stores, port and promenade, great view from the top of the building. Quite difficult to find it without GPS if you are first time in La Spezia. Room: simple, clean, air conditioned, window blinds, everyday cleaning, every single day fresh towells. No ironing setup, uncomfortable materasses. Simple... More

This nice and new-looking hotel is very central, the staff is courteous and very accommodating, we stayed in a very small room but it was expected to be so, since it was supposed to be only me but then we decided to travel in couple. Although they had no double rooms left they added a bed for the night. The... More

Very cheap hotel in La Spezia. Is very close to the center and the guys at the reception are very friendly and available to give informations on the area. I loved Portovenere, so I suggest anyone to go there for a trip.. I liked the Cinque Terre too, but they were really crowded. Our room was big and there were... More

My advice don't stay - Information is not provided whilst reviewing this property that towels will only be changed 2nd daily. This information you find behind the room door with fire exit information. When you do ask for an extra towel or leave used towels in shower to be changed you are left with a rude and impersonal letter from... More
